This 100% Arabica (South America + Ethiopia) is a refined medium that preserves the delicate aromas of the bean without burning. In the cup, it offers a smooth, floral, and honeyed espresso with light notes of sweet almond, very low bitterness, present but well-integrated acidity, and a moderate body. This Dolce Gusto capsule is the closest thing to a specialty coffee —the antithesis of Kimbo's historic, full-bodied Neapolitan Robusta blends.

Which machines are compatible with these capsules?
These capsules are compatible with all Nescafé Dolce Gusto machines : Piccolo, Piccolo XS, Genio, Genio S/S+, Movenza, Neo, Esperta 2, Krups Dolce Gusto (Circolo, Melody, Oblo), and De'Longhi Dolce Gusto (Jovia, Mini Me). The capsule format is exactly the same as the original Nestlé Dolce Gusto capsule. Not compatible with other systems (Nespresso, Lavazza A Modo Mio, illy Iperespresso, Delta Q).
What is the difference between these and the official Nestlé Dolce Gusto capsules?
Three key differences that explain the choice of Kimbo:
- Blend : Kimbo Barista is 100% Arabica — a premium selection from South America and Ethiopia. Most Nestlé Dolce Gusto coffees are Arabica/Robusta blends.
- Signature : Kimbo, since 1963, boasts 60 years of expertise in Italian coffee. This is an authentic Italian , not an industrial Nestlé blend.
- Price : often cheaper than the equivalent Dolce Gusto Nestlé capsule, of at least equivalent or even superior quality.
What type of coffee are these capsules suitable for?
The Barista 100% Arabica blend is smooth and floral — ideal for:
- Morning espresso — no harsh bitterness upon waking, pleasant honeyed notes.
- Light after-meal coffee — the floral notes extend a fruity dessert or pastry.
- For palates that don't like bitterness — the antithesis of full-bodied Italian dark roast blends.
For a stronger, more Neapolitan, try the other Kimbo Dolce Gusto compatible capsules: Intenso or Napoli.
Are the capsules recyclable?
Kimbo Dolce Gusto-compatible capsules are made of polypropylene (PP) plastic — recyclable in the yellow recycling bin after emptying the coffee grounds. The grounds can be composted separately (an excellent compost activator, rich in nitrogen). Nestlé also offers its Dolce Gusto which is compatible with these capsules.
Storage and best before date?
Store in a dry place away from light (pantry, closed cupboard). Kimbo capsules are individually sealed under an inert atmosphere — freshness is guaranteed until the best before date indicated on the top foil (typically 18 to 24 months from the production date).
