Taste Profile
Lavazza Espresso Point Crema e Aroma Gran Caffè is the full-bodied and creamy version of the classic Crema e Aroma blend—designed for the Ho.Re.Ca sector where a traditional Italian espresso with more intensity than a balanced blend is desired, without veering into the Neapolitan dark roast style. It's a multi-origin Arabica-Robusta blend (Arabica from Brazil and Colombia, Robusta from India and Vietnam for the body and signature crema), with a medium-dark roast from Settimo Torinese—darker than the classic blend, which enhances the roasted and caramel notes . In the cup: a dense body, abundant hazelnut-colored crema , dominant notes of dark chocolate , toasted caramel , and hints of sweet spices . Bitterness is present but balanced by the natural sweetness of the South American Arabicas, and the finish is long and lingering . The Lavazza EP choice for a full-bodied espresso that is more expressive and creamy than the standard Crema e Aroma — ideal for busy offices, premium waiting rooms, and catering.

Frequently Asked Questions
Crema e Aroma Gran Caffè vs Crema e Aroma classic: what's the difference?
Two Espresso Point from the same Crema e Aroma family, but with different positioning:
- Classic Crema e Aroma — intensity 7/10, medium roast, balanced blend of milk chocolate and cereals. Versatile for everyday use: suits all tastes.
- Crema e Aroma Gran Caffè (this ref.) — intensity 8/10, medium-dark roast, fuller-bodied and creamier, with notes of dark chocolate and toasted caramel. A more expressive traditional Italian espresso.
Reco: classic for off-road use, Gran Caffè for those who find the classic a little too light.
What is the exact composition of the Crema e Aroma Gran Caffè blend?
Lavazza's signature multi-origin Arabica-Robusta blend . The Arabica beans come primarily from Brazil (mild and sweet, with chocolate notes) and Colombia ( with fine acidity and dried fruit notes). The Robusta beans come from India (body and crema) and Vietnam (strength and intensity). Lavazza does not disclose the exact proportions (trade secret), but the typical Gran Caffè blend is around 60-70% Arabica and 30-40% Robusta . It is roasted to a medium-dark Settimo Torinese—a darker roast than the classic version to develop the roasted notes. Total weight 750g for 100 capsules, or 7.5g per capsule .
How many cups can you get from a box of 100 capsules?
Exactly 100 espressos — each capsule = one cup (espresso mode 30-40 mL). Estimated battery life:
- Office (5-10 people) · 8-15 cups/day — ~7-12 days. Standard size for medium-intensive office use.
- Waiting room 3-5 cups/day — ~20-33 days. Comfortable autonomy.
- Catering ~20 cups/day — ~5 days. Plan for several boxes to rotate.
The 100 caps box is the standard pro EP format : no 16/32 caps sub-format on this system (unlike A Modo Mio or Nespresso compatible).
Which machines is it compatible with?
machines Point : EP Mini (compact office), EP2302 (medium-capacity self-service), EP2100 (older office models), EP Matinée (compact professional), LB 1000 (industrial office). Not compatible with Lavazza A Modo Mio (home use), Lavazza Blue (modern Ho.Re.Ca), Lavazza Firma (partners), Nespresso, Dolce Gusto, or illy Iperespresso. Best before date and storage?
Best before date 18-24 months from roasting (exact date printed on the box). Store at room temperature (15-25°C), away from light and moisture. The EP capsules are made of rigid polypropylene plastic — no loss of aroma until the capsule is pierced. Avoid storing in humid kitchens or near ovens/stoves.
Is the Espresso Point system still active in 2026?
Yes, in the HoReCa sector. Although Lavazza gradually introduced Lavazza Blue (2000s, high-end HoReCa) and then Lavazza Firma (2010s, open partner system), the Espresso Point remains supported with an active catalog of consumables—it's the long-standing choice of many offices, hotels, medical practices, waiting rooms, and vending machines. Lavazza still markets its signature blends (Crema e Aroma, Gran Caffè, Aroma Club, DEK) plus complementary beverages ( Al Limone, Bevanda Bianca).
