Delta Cafés was founded in 1961 in Campo Maior, Portugal, by Rui Nabeiro. The Delta Q system is Delta Cafés' proprietary capsule format—designed to simplify espresso preparation at home or in a small office. Delta Q capsules, made of plastic sealed with an aluminum foil lid, have a unique format exclusive to the brand and are compatible only with Delta Q machines. The catalog is branded Delta Cafés : blends numbered according to their intensity, from Qonvictus No. 5 to UniqNo. 16 (Qharacter No. 9, Qalidus No. 10, MythiQ No. 15, the decaffeinated Deqafeinatus No. 7, etc.), at €0.37 per capsule in a pack of 40 Qalidus No. 10.

Fill the water tank, place a Delta Q capsule in the capsule holder, lower the lever, and then select your beverage: hot water is forced through the capsule under pressure (19 bars on the Mini Qool and theICONIQ), and the extraction stops automatically. The volumes for espresso and lungo coffee are programmable. The Mini MilkQool adds a milk container: a selector chooses cappuccino or café crème, and a dedicated button starts the drink.
Then lift the lever: the used capsule falls into an integrated bin (up to 7 capsules on the Mini Qool and Mini MilkQool, 10 on theICONIQ), which needs to be emptied regularly.

Delta Q recommends descaling every three months, or after approximately 300 capsules ; the frequency also depends on the hardness of your water and your usage. Use the Delta Q descaling kit and follow the procedure in your machine's manual: add descaling solution to the reservoir, run a descaling cycle without capsules, then rinse with clean water.
Filtered water causes less limescale buildup: a Brita water filter or low mineral content water reduces the frequency of descaling.
