Kimbo is a Neapolitan company: the brand was founded in Naples in 1963by the Cafè do Brasil company of brothers Francesco, Gerardo, and Elio Rubino, and its coffee is roasted at its factory in Melito di Napoli. Since 1994, Kimbo has been the second-largest brand of packaged coffee in Italian supermarkets, after Lavazza.

At Cafemalinline, Barista compatible with Nespresso® Original machines, includes three coffees, each in a box of 30 x 5.5g capsules: the Barista 100% Arabica (9/13), floral and honeyed; the Barista Espresso Napoli (10/13), a balanced and smooth blend of Arabica and Robusta with notes of biscuit and vanilla; and the Barista Ristretto (12/13), the most intense, a dark roast with notes of caramel, dark chocolate, and malt. The intensity levels are based on Kimbo's scale of 1 to 13.

Kimbo has chosen aluminum , which protects the coffee from moisture, light, and oxygen. The capsules are compatible with all Nespresso® Original machines (Essenza Mini, Inissia, Pixie, CitiZ, Lattissima, Creatista…), but not with Vertuo machines . Do Kimbo capsules work on Nespresso Vertuo machines?

No. These Kimbo capsules are made for Nespresso® Original machines (Essenza Mini, Inissia, Pixie, CitiZ, Lattissima, Creatista…). Vertuo machines use larger capsules with a barcode that the machine reads: an Original capsule will not work with them.

What is the difference between the three Kimbo Nespresso capsules?

On the Kimbo intensity scale, from 1 to 13:

  • Barista 100% Arabica — 9/13, medium-dark roast, notes of fresh flowers, honey and toast.
  • Barista Espresso Napoli — 10/13, Arabica and Robusta, medium-dark roast, balanced and smooth, notes of biscuit, flowers and vanilla.
  • Barista Ristretto — 12/13, the most intense, dark roast, notes of caramel, dark chocolate and malt.
Is Kimbo Barista 100% Arabica really only Arabica?

Yes, according to Kimbo, which presents it as a 100% Arabica coffee selected directly from the countries of origin. The Barista Espresso Napoli blends Arabica and Robusta; Kimbo does not publish the composition of the Ristretto.
