Flavour profile
As its name suggests, Barista 100% Arabica blends only Arabica coffees, which Kimbo says are selected directly in the countries of origin, with a medium-dark roast. Intensity 9/13 on the company's scale.
In the cup, according to Kimbo: good body, a delicate acidity reminiscent of fresh flowers, a note of honey, then a lingering finish with light notes of toast. It is the mildest of the three Nespresso-compatible Kimbo coffees from Cafemalin: Kimbo Napoli (10/13) combines Arabica and Robusta, while Kimbo Ristretto (12/13) takes the intensity up a notch.

Frequently asked questions
Which machines are these capsules compatible with?
All Nespresso® Original machines, which use the small, classic capsules: Essenza Mini, Inissia, Pixie, CitiZ, Lattissima, Creatista… They do not fit Vertuo machines, which use larger capsules with a barcode, or Nespresso Professional machines.
What does this pack contain?
10 boxes of 10 capsules, giving you 100 capsules and 100 espressos. Each aluminium capsule contains 5,5 g of roasted and ground coffee: 550 g of coffee in total. According to Kimbo, aluminium protects the coffee from moisture, light and oxygen. The same coffee is also available in a box of 30 capsules.
Barista 100% Arabica, Napoli or Ristretto: which Kimbo capsule should you choose?
The three Nespresso-compatible Kimbo coffees from Cafemalin, on Kimbo's intensity scale (from 1 to 13):
- Barista 100% Arabica (this coffee) — 9/13, medium-dark roast, notes of fresh flowers, honey and toast.
- Barista Espresso Napoli — 10/13, Arabica and Robusta, medium-dark roast, balanced and mild, notes of biscuit, flowers and vanilla.
- Barista Ristretto — 12/13, the most intense, dark roast, notes of caramel, dark chocolate and malt.
What difference does a 100% Arabica coffee make?
Arabica generally produces a more aromatic, less bitter cup than Robusta, with a little more acidity; Robusta adds body, crema and more caffeine. This Barista is a good example: fresh flowers, honey and toast, with an intensity of 9/13. Kimbo Napoli, which combines the two, is a little more intense.
Espresso or lungo?
Both work. As an espresso (40 ml), the floral and honey notes remain concentrated; as a lungo (110 ml, using the large cup button), the cup is lighter and milder.
How should you store the capsules?
In their box, away from heat, light and moisture. Each capsule is packed in a protective atmosphere: the coffee keeps until the date printed on the box. With 100 capsules, you have enough to last more than three months at one coffee a day.
Where is this coffee roasted?
Kimbo roasts its coffee at its factory in Melito di Napoli, near Naples. It is a Neapolitan company, founded in 1963 by the brothers Francesco, Gerardo and Elio Rubino.
