Barista Ristretto is the most intense of the three Kimbo Nespresso-compatible coffees from Cafemalin: 12 out of 13 on the brand's scale, with a dark roast. Kimbo does not publish its composition; it describes it as having an intense caramel aroma and toasted notes, a full body and a lingering finish with pronounced notes of dark chocolate and malt.
In the cup: a short, dense coffee, made for a ristretto (25 ml) or espresso (40 ml). For a smoother cup, choose Kimbo Napoli (10/13); for a 100% Arabica, choose Barista 100% Arabica (9/13).

Which machines are these capsules compatible with?
All Nespresso® Original machines, which use the small, classic capsules: Essenza Mini, Inissia, Pixie, CitiZ, Lattissima, Creatista… They do not fit Vertuo machines, which use larger capsules with a barcode, or Nespresso Professional machines.
Barista 100% Arabica, Napoli or Ristretto: which Kimbo capsule should you choose?
The three Nespresso-compatible Kimbo coffees from Cafemalin, on Kimbo's intensity scale (from 1 to 13):
- Barista 100% Arabica — 9/13, medium-dark roast, notes of fresh flowers, honey and toast.
- Barista Espresso Napoli — 10/13, Arabica and Robusta, medium-dark roast, balanced and mild, notes of biscuit, flowers and vanilla.
- Barista Ristretto (this coffee) — 12/13, the most intense, dark roast, notes of caramel, dark chocolate and malt.
Ristretto or espresso: which volume should you choose?
The name says it all: this coffee is made for a short cup, a 25 ml ristretto, using the ristretto button on machines that have one, or stopping the espresso early. As a 40 ml espresso, it remains intense. A 110 ml lungo suits it less well: the extra water reduces its density.
What does a capsule contain?
5,5 g of roasted and ground coffee, in an aluminium capsule which, according to Kimbo, protects the coffee from moisture, light and oxygen. The box contains 30 capsules, enough for 30 espressos.
How should you store the capsules?
In their box, away from heat, light and moisture. Each capsule is packed in a protective atmosphere: the coffee keeps until the date printed on the box.
Where is this coffee roasted?
Kimbo roasts its coffee at its factory in Melito di Napoli, near Naples. It is a Neapolitan company, founded in 1963 by the brothers Francesco, Gerardo and Elio Rubino.
