Dolce Gusto compatible capsules in 90 seconds

The Nescafé® Dolce Gusto® system was launched by Nestlé in 2006. Its machines, made by Krups and De'Longhi (Piccolo XS, Genio S, Infinissima, Mini Me, Oblo…), prepare espresso and lungo and, with milk or chocolate capsules, milk-based drinks. Nescafé has since launched Neo, a second system that uses paper pods: the compatible capsules on this page are made for Dolce Gusto Original machines.

A Dolce Gusto capsule is larger than a Nespresso capsule and contains more coffee: 7 g for Kimbo capsules, compared with 5,5 g for its Nespresso-compatible capsules.

At Cafemalin, the Dolce Gusto compatible capsules are from Kimbo, a Neapolitan company founded in 1963, in boxes of 16 at 5,75 € (or 0,36 € per cup): Intenso, intense and full-bodied (12/13, dark roast, dark chocolate finish), and the milder Barista 100% Arabica (9/13, fresh flowers, almond, toast). The intensity ratings are Kimbo's, on a scale from 1 to 13.

Which machines take these Dolce Gusto compatible capsules?

Nescafé® Dolce Gusto® Original machines, made by Krups or De'Longhi: Piccolo XS, Genio S, Infinissima, Mini Me, Oblo, Movenza… Not Neo machines, which use paper pods, or Nespresso machines.

Dolce Gusto Original or Neo capsules: what's the difference?

These are two Nescafé Dolce Gusto systems. Original machines (Piccolo XS, Genio S, Infinissima, Mini Me…) take capsules like those on this page; the newer Neo machines use paper pods in a different format. According to Nescafé, Neo pods do not fit Original machines, except with the Neo Start adaptor on a few models.

Intenso or Barista 100% Arabica: which Kimbo capsule should you choose?

On Kimbo's intensity scale, from 1 to 13:

  • Barista 100% Arabica — 9/13, medium-dark roast, notes of fresh flowers, almond and toast.
  • Intenso — 12/13, dark roast, full body, dark chocolate finish.
How should you dispose of used capsules?

Follow your local council's recycling guidelines. The Nescafé Dolce Gusto collection programme, run with TerraCycle, covers Nescafé-branded capsules.

How long will my capsules take to arrive?

All orders placed before 16 h on a working day are dispatched the same day, with delivery generally within 24 to 48 hours in mainland France. At checkout, you can choose delivery to a pick-up point, home delivery, express delivery before 13 h, or collection from the shop in Sarcelles. The estimated delivery date is shown on each product page, and tracking details are emailed to you as soon as your order is dispatched.
