Only Lavazza A Modo Mio (AMM) soft aluminum capsules . These are proprietary Lavazza capsules in a specific format (not to be confused with Nespresso, Delta Q, illy Iperespresso, Dolce Gusto, or Lavazza Blue). The official Lavazza AMM range is available at Cafemalin .

The Lavazza Idola is available in several colours to suit all kitchens:

• Greige (this product) — contemporary beige-grey, fits into Scandinavian, Japandi, minimalist.
• Black — intense black, industrial style, modern, dark kitchen.
• Other historical colours (white, red, ivory, arty) subject to Lavazza availability.

The technical specifications are identical : OLED screen, steam nozzle, 1500 W, 15 bar pressure, 1.1 L tank. The choice is purely aesthetic.

The integrated steam nozzle allows you to prepare a cappuccino or latte with fresh milk. Steps:

1. Fill a stainless steel milk jug with ~150 mL of very cold whole milk (whole milk foams better than skimmed milk).
2. Press the steam and wait for the pressure to build up (~30 s).
3. Immerse the nozzle to ~1 cm below the surface of the milk to create foam; then go deeper to heat (target temperature ~60-65 °C).
4. Prepare a Lavazza espresso at the same time (an AMM Passionale or Intenso capsule gives an excellent result).
5. Pour the foam over the espresso — cappuccino ready.

Tip : Clean the nozzle immediately after use (damp cloth + vacuum purge) to prevent residual milk from drying inside.

Simple maintenance , suitable for home use:

• Emptying of used capsule container — every 10-12 espressos (LED indicator on the machine).
• Water tank refill — every ~12-15 espressos or depending on steam usage.
• Descaling — every 3-6 months depending on local water hardness (indicator integrated on the OLED screen). Use Lavazza descaler or a universal descaler compatible with capsule coffee machines.
• Steam nozzle cleaning — after each use (damp cloth + purge). Disassembly and white vinegar bath once a week.
• Exterior cleaning — damp microfiber cloth, avoid abrasive products on the greige finish.

Two different positionings within the A Modo Mio :

• Pretty — entry-level, mechanical buttons (2 espresso/lungo sizes), no steam wand, more affordable price. Target household use for simple coffee.
• Idola (this product) — high-end, OLED touchscreen (5 preset drinks), steam nozzle , premium design. Target households demanding quality + coffee/cappuccino ritual.
