Taste Profile
Lavazza Maestro Lungo is the 100% Arabica blend from the Lavazza Maestro collection, specifically designed for long extractions (100-120 ml, "lungo" or "gran lungo" style). It's composed of 100% Arabica beans selected from premium South and Central American origins (Brazil, Colombia, Guatemala), with a balanced medium roast that preserves delicate notes during extended extraction . The technical challenge: in a long extraction, a poorly calibrated blend becomes bitter and bland . Lavazza has specifically roasted Maestro Lungo to reveal its subtle notes, even in 100-120 ml. In the cup: a balanced body with floral notes , yellow fruit , and smooth cocoa . Ideal for lovers of a long, refined coffee—an alternative to strong, short extractions, perfect for breakfast or after a meal.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between a classic espresso and a lungo?
Difference in volume and calibration blend :
- Espresso — short extraction 25-35 mL, high pressure 9 bars, calibrated blend, darker roast, finer grind. Result: concentrated intensity, dense body, abundant crema.
- Lungo — long extraction 100-120 mL, same pressure but 3-4 times greater volume, calibrated blend, lighter roast, coarser grind. Result: smoother, more fluid coffee, delicate aromas revealed.
A 100% Arabica blend with medium roasting better withstands long extraction without becoming bitter — this is precisely the positioning of Maestro Lungo.
Compatible with all Nespresso machines?
Only Nespresso Original machines : Essenza Mini, Pixie, Inissia, CitiZ, Lattissima, Creatista, Atelier, U, Prodigio, Le Cube, Expert, as well as Krups Nespresso, Magimix Nespresso, and De'Longhi Nespresso machines. Most of these machines have a dedicated "lungo" button that automatically increases the extraction volume. Not compatible with Nespresso Vertuo (different system, barcoded capsules with centrifugal extraction).
Difference between Maestro Classico and Lungo?
Two 100% Arabica blends from the Maestro collection, with different calibrations :
- Maestro Classico (#14895) — versatile, espresso calibrated 25-35 mL. Notes of white flowers and ripe fruit.
- Maestro Lungo (this product, #14892) — specialized long extraction 100-120 mL. Floral and yellow fruit notes more pronounced in lungo.
Technically, Classico can be extracted as a lungo and Lungo as an espresso, but the optimal result corresponds to the intended format.
Difference with the official Nespresso Vivalto Lungo?
The Vivalto Lungo is an Arabica blend similar in positioning, with some differences:
- Roaster — Lavazza Turin (Maestro Lungo) vs Nespresso (Switzerland/Nestlé).
- Blend — Maestro Lungo follows the Italian Piedmontese school (floral and fruity notes). Vivalto Lungo follows a more classic European school.
- Price — Maestro Lungo is generally cheaper per capsule for equivalent volume (compare prices shown).
