Lavazza Blue LB 1300C Classy Soul Coffee Machine

All Lavazza Blue — the Lavazza instructions specify "Lavazza or compatible capsules", for single use:

• Espressos Lavazza Blue — Intenso, Tales of Venezia Lungo, Amabile, Decaffeinato, Tales of Milano / Roma / Napoli, ¡Tierra! Bio-Organic. See the Lavazza Blue.
• Lavazza Blue for Specialty touches — Cioccolato Fondente, Bevanda Bianca (milk), teas Blue.
• Compatible Blue from other roasters (Kimbo, Covim, Bristot) — same capsule geometry, to be found in the Lavazza Blue.

Incompatible : A Modo Mio, Espresso Point, Firma (the three other Lavazza systems), Nespresso®, Dolce Gusto®, ESE pods. The capsule Blue has a polypropylene body and an aluminum lid: it is its shape, not its material, that makes it compatible with LB machines.

The three Lavazza Blue machines from Cafemalin share the same capsules and are distinguished by their use:

• LB300 Classy Mini — the compact entry-level model, classic buttons, smaller tank: small team, meeting room, foyer.
• LB 1300C Classy Soul (this product sheet) — touchscreen, 6 selections including free dose and two specialty buttons for beverage capsules, Temperature Boost, 1.6 L, capsule container with indicator light, automatic shut-off. The most complete compact coffee machine: ideal for offices, reception areas, and small to medium-sized teams.
• LB 2310 professional — the high-volume machine, designed for continuous service on a medium-sized office or in Ho.Re.Ca.

In summary : a single work surface width dedicated to coffee and the desire to control the dosage and temperature → Classy Soul. A tight budget for occasional use → LB300. A continuous flow of cups all day long → LB 2310.

The free-dispensing button releases up to 150 ml and stops when you decide: perfect for a long coffee to your liking or a large mug. The two Specialty buttons (50 and 120 ml) are reserved for Lavazza Blue : a complementary beverage capsules Cioccolato Fondente chocolate , a Bevanda Bianca milk capsule , or a Lavazza tea Blue . The volume of these two buttons cannot be adjusted; dose programming is only available for the three coffee buttons (Espresso, Espresso Lungo, Lungo), with a minimum of 20 ml .

Pressing the TEMPERATURE BOOST before dispensing increases the water temperature for the next cup—the button lights up more brightly and the machine confirms with a beep; pressing it a second time returns to the standard temperature. The setting cannot be changed during dispensing. This is Lavazza's answer to the most frequent request in offices: "hotter coffee," without altering the machine's internal settings.

The Classy Soul is an espresso machine : it has neither a steam wand nor a built-in milk frother. There are two ways to make a milk-based drink: use a Bevanda Bianca capsule (Lavazza powdered milk Blue) on the Specialties button, then pump an espresso over it; or use a separate milk frother. The machine itself indicates that descaling is required : a steady orange light will illuminate. The procedure, according to the Lavazza user manual, is as follows: fill the reservoir with 250 ml of Lavazza Descaling + 250 ml of water, place a container of at least 0.5 L under the nozzle, start the program (using the button combination described in the manual), then rinse with 2 L of clean water in two passes. The frequency depends on the hardness of your water: in the Île-de-France region or in the North (hard water), the indicator light will come on more often than in Brittany. A water filter in the reservoir reduces the frequency of descaling and improves crema production.

Rated power of 1500 W during heating (a few tens of seconds), then a low-power mode and automatic shut-off after 9 minutes of inactivity — Lavazza indicates a consumption of 0.2 W in this state. You can also switch it off manually by pressing and holding the button. Once switched back on, it is ready in about thirty seconds, according to retailers. 220-240 V power supply, 0.8 m cable: ensure a power outlet is located near the work surface.
