Lavazza Blue LB300 Classy Mini coffee machine

Only Lavazza Blue capsules: coffees from the range (Blue Intenso, Amabile, Tales of collection, Decaffeinato…), Blue instant drinks (chocolate, milk-flavoured drink, teas) and Blue-compatible capsules. See the Lavazza Blue range. It does not accept A Modo Mio, Espresso Point, Nespresso, Dolce Gusto or Delta Q capsules.

13,5 cm wide, 34 cm deep and 26 cm high, weighing 3,5 kg, according to the Lavazza specification sheet. Its removable tank holds 0,7 L. It fits on the corner of a desk, in a meeting room or a hotel room; remove the drip tray to fit a taller glass under the spout.

It has two buttons: ESPRESSO stops automatically at the programmed volume (factory setting: 30 ml), while LUNGO stops when you press again, for a lungo, tea or chocolate capsule. Both volumes can be reprogrammed by pressing and holding, up to 220 ml. For an instant drink capsule, Lavazza recommends running a little water without a capsule before inserting it.

28 seconds, according to Lavazza. It enters standby mode after 30 minutes of inactivity, or manually by holding down both buttons for 3 seconds; pressing a button wakes it up.

Three Lavazza Blue machines, three uses:

• LB 300 Classy Mini (this product) — two buttons, 0,7 L tank, drawer for 5 capsules: the smallest, for a few coffees a day.
• LB 1300C Classy Soul — touchscreen, 6 selections including two Specialities buttons for drinks, Temperature Boost, 1,6 L tank.
• LB 2310 — six buttons including hot water and instant drinks, display, 4 L tank, container for 25 capsules: Lavazza intends it for small offices, shops and institutions.

The Lavazza instruction manual specifies:

• emptying the capsule drawer and drip tray after 5 coffees or every two to three days;
• running an espresso cycle without a capsule every week;
• descaling every 2 months of use, or as soon as the flow slows down, with a commercially available coffee machine descaler, never vinegar;
• not leaving water in the tank for more than 3 days.
