Frequently asked questions
Which capsules can you use with the Covim CO120?
Only capsules for the Lavazza Blue system: the CO120 is specified for Lavazza Blue capsules. At Cafemalin, these include Covim Honduras 100% Arabica and Orocrema capsules, Bristot Arabica Plus and all Lavazza Blue capsules, original or compatible.
A Modo Mio, Espresso Point, Firma, Nespresso and Dolce Gusto capsules, as well as pods, are not suitable for this machine.
Is the Covim CO120 a Lavazza machine?
No. The CO120 is a machine from Covim, a Genoese coffee roaster independent of Lavazza, designed for capsules using the Lavazza Blue system. This system is shared by Lavazza's ‘LB’ machines — such as the LB 300 Classy Mini, LB 1300C Classy Soul and LB 2310 — and compatible capsules from several roasters: all these machines use the same capsules.
For a specific CO120 specification (power, pressure, tank capacity), refer to the instructions supplied with the machine or write to our customer service team.
Which Covim coffee should you choose for the CO120?
Choose Covim capsules for the Blue system to suit your taste: Honduras 100% Arabica is aromatic and delicate, with notes of red berries and cocoa (7 out of 10 on Covim's scale); Orocrema, a blend of Arabica and Robusta, is creamy and assertive (9 out of 10). For another Blue-compatible 100% Arabica, see Bristot Arabica Plus.
How do you make coffee with the CO120?
Fill the transparent tank at the rear of the machine with fresh water, plug it in, place a cup on the grid beneath the coffee spout, insert a Lavazza Blue capsule, then press one of the two buttons on the front control panel. For initial set-up, button functions and volumes, follow the instructions supplied with the machine.
How do you descale the CO120, and how often?
The machine's manual specifies the procedure and frequency for the CO120. As a general rule, use a coffee machine descaler according to the manufacturer's instructions; the frequency depends on water hardness: the harder your water, the more often you need to descale.
