It produces an espresso with a complex, aromatic profile, tangy notes of red berries and notes of cocoa: ‘aromatic and delicate’, according to Covim, with an intensity of 7 out of 10 on its scale. Aroma, sweetness and smoothness are its strengths; the body remains moderate.

Frequently asked questions
What does Covim Honduras 100% Arabica taste like?
Covim describes it as aromatic and delicate, with a complex profile: tangy notes of red berries and notes of cocoa, with an intensity of 7 out of 10 on its scale. Of the five criteria it publishes, aroma, sweetness and smoothness receive the maximum score (5 out of 5), while body and roast score 3. Covim rates its coffees out of 10 and Lavazza its Blue capsules out of 13: the two figures cannot be compared.
Lavazza's pure Arabica Blue coffees are Tales of Venezia (8 out of 13) and Tales of Milano (9); for a more full-bodied profile, see Covim's Orocrema, a blend of Arabica and Robusta.
Where does this coffee come from, and what does ‘washed’ mean?
From Honduras: according to Covim, a 100% washed Arabica from organically farmed Honduran plantations, where hand-picking follows Rainforest Alliance guidelines. Covim presents it as its organic single-origin speciality, dedicated to coffee professionals.
‘Washed’ refers to how the coffee is processed after harvesting: the fruit pulp is removed and the beans are washed before drying (the ‘wet process’). This process is often associated with a clean cup and well-defined aromas.
Do these capsules fit all Lavazza Blue machines?
Covim states that they are compatible with the Lavazza Blue system: the system used by Lavazza ‘LB’ machines — LB 300 Classy Mini, LB 1300C Classy Soul, LB 2310… — and machines from other brands designed for Blue capsules, such as the Covim CO120. They do not fit A Modo Mio, Espresso Point, Firma, Nespresso or Dolce Gusto machines.
Honduras, Orocrema or Granbar Bidose: which Covim capsule should you choose?
They all fit the same Lavazza Blue machines; the choice comes down to taste:
- Honduras (this product) — 100% washed Arabica, aromatic and delicate, with notes of red berries and cocoa: intensity 7 out of 10.
- Orocrema — Arabica and Robusta, creamy and bold, with a subtle note of tropical wood: intensity 9 out of 10.
- Granbar Bidose — rich and full-bodied, with notes of toast and dried fruit; one capsule for two espressos.
Intensity ratings use Covim's scale (out of 10).
