This coffee is a single-origin from Honduras: 100% washed Arabica, from organically farmed plantations in Honduras and hand-picked in accordance with Rainforest Alliance standards. Covim, a roaster based in Genoa, uses it to create an espresso with a complex, aromatic profile, tangy notes of red berries and notes of cocoa, which it describes as “aromatic and delicate”. Intensity 7 out of 10.
It comes in compostable pods in the 44 mm ESE format, each making one espresso.

What is an ESE pod?
ESE (Easy Serving Espresso) is a standard pod format made from filter paper, 44 mm in diameter, filled with around 7 g of tamped ground coffee, for one espresso. This format is used by many roasters and machines: an ESE-compatible machine accepts ESE pods from different brands.
Which machines accept these pods?
Espresso machines compatible with 44 mm ESE pods, often with a portafilter, fitted with a pod filter or adaptor. Check your machine's manual for ESE compatibility. These pods do not fit capsule machines (Nespresso, Lavazza, Dolce Gusto…), or Senseo-type soft pod machines.
Are the pods compostable?
Yes, Covim describes these pods as compostable. After use, the pod (paper and coffee grounds) can go in the compost or with organic waste, according to your local council's guidance.
ESE pod or Senseo-type soft pod?
These are two different formats:
- ESE pod (this product) — 44 mm, tamped coffee, for an espresso brewed under pressure in an ESE-compatible machine.
- Soft pod — wider, for Senseo-type machines, which make a lungo without espresso pressure: see our soft pods.
How many espressos per box?
One pod per espresso, giving 50 espressos per box: more than three weeks at two espressos a day.
How should I store the pods?
Keep the box closed in a dry place, away from heat and light, and use the pods before the date printed on the box.
