Taste Profile
Lavazza Blue Tales of Venezia Lungo is part of the "Tales of Italy" collection launched by Lavazza in 2020 —a series of four blends dedicated to iconic Italian coffee cities (Naples, Venice, Milan, and Rome), each inspired by its local tasting profile . Venezia celebrates the traditional Venetian lungo —the espresso lungo, savored slowly on a canal-side terrace, a symbol of the Serenissima's rhythm of life. It features a balanced Arabica-Robusta blend and a medium roast specifically calibrated for a long extraction that preserves sweetness without becoming bitter (unlike a classic espresso shot, which becomes bitter). In the cup: a round body , a smooth crema, and dominant notes of cocoa, brown sugar , and toasted almond . Ideally enjoyed as a lungo (50-80 mL) rather than a ristretto—a blend for lovers of a long, refined coffee, an alternative to strong, short extractions.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Lavazza "Tales of Italy" collection?
Launched by Lavazza in 2020 , the Tales of Italy collection offers 4 blends dedicated to iconic Italian coffee cities , each inspired by the local tasting profile and regional espresso tradition :
- Tales of Napoli — traditional full-bodied Neapolitan espresso, intensity 10/12, intense cocoa notes.
- Tales of Venezia Lungo (this product) — Venetian long coffee, smooth and round, intensity 6/12.
- Tales of Milano — balanced urban Milanese espresso, intensity 7/12.
- Tales of Roma — intense, full-bodied Roman espresso, intensity 9/12.
What is the difference between "Lungo" and "Espresso" in the Tales of collection?
Different target extraction format :
- Lungo (Venezia) — long extraction 50-80 mL, calibrated blend (softer roast, coarser grind) to preserve sweetness in larger volume without bitterness.
- Espresso (Napoli, Milano, Roma) — short extraction 25-35 mL, calibrated blend (darker roast, finer grind) for concentrated intensity, body and dense crema.
Technically, any capsule can be extracted as a lungo or espresso, but the optimal result corresponds to the format intended by the roaster.
Why is Venice associated with the lungo in Italian tradition?
Venice and its Veneto region have historically developed a tradition of the long coffee (caffè lungo)—a longer, milder extraction, served in a larger cup, and enjoyed slowly on a terrace or in historic cafés (Caffè Florian, Caffè Quadri in Piazza San Marco). Unlike the Napoli espresso (strong, short, and enjoyed "al banco" standing at the counter), the Venezia lungo is associated with a more deliberate, contemplative tasting ritual. The Tales of Lavazza series pays homage to this Italian regional diversity.
Which Blue machines are compatible with?
All Lavazza Blue machines : LB300, LB400, LB910, LB1000, LB1100, LB1200, LB2100, LB2500, LB2310, LB4700, LB Classy Mini, LB Classy Plus . Not compatible with Lavazza A Modo Mio, Espresso Point, Nespresso, or Dolce Gusto — the capsule geometries are physically incompatible. Most Blue offer a machines dedicated "lungo" button that automatically increases the extraction volume for this type of blend.
How long does a box of 100 last?
Autonomy estimates:
- Household of 2-3 people, 5 coffees/day : ~20 days per box.
- Office for 10 people, 15 coffees/day : ~7 days per box.
- Private practice, 20 coffees/day : ~5 days per box.
Ideal to complement your Intenso box and alternate according to the time of day (Intenso in the morning, Venezia Lungo in the afternoon).
Best before end date, storage and recycling?
Best before date: 12-18 months from the date of production. Store at room temperature, away from direct light and humidity. Rigid plastic food-grade : recycle via Lavazza collection points in professional establishments or the Terracycle program (depending on the region). Household recycling varies by municipality.
