Lavazza Blue Espresso Intenso — 100 capsules

Yes: in our Lavazza Blue range, Tales of Capri is taking the place of Blue Intenso. The two share the same essentials but differ in profile, according to the Lavazza product specifications:

• Identical features — Lavazza Blue system (‘LB’ machines), box of 100 capsules, 8 g of coffee per capsule, intensity 11 out of 13, Arabica and Robusta blend.
• Blue Intenso (this product) — dark roast, coffees from Central America, South America and South-East Asia, chocolate notes.
• Tales of Capri — medium roast, coffees from Africa, Asia and South America, chocolate and dried fruit notes.

Both work in the same Lavazza Blue machines: the choice comes down to taste.

Lavazza’s capsule system for offices and public spaces, launched in 2003: BLUE stands for Best Lavazza Ultimate Espresso. Its capsule is self-protecting: sealed, it protects the coffee until extraction, without an individual wrapper. The machines in this system have ‘LB’ in their names, from the compact LB 300 Classy Mini to the LB 2310 for offices.

All Lavazza Blue machines, whose names start with ‘LB’: LB 300 Classy Mini, LB 900 Classy Compact, LB 1050 Classy Milk, LB 1300C Classy Soul, LB 2310… The capsules do not work in A Modo Mio, Espresso Point, Firma, Nespresso or Dolce Gusto machines. Other roasters also offer Lavazza Blue-compatible capsules, such as Bristot Arabica Plus.

These are two coffees for different systems, and their capsules are not interchangeable:

• Blue Intenso (this product) — Blue system, box of 100 capsules, for ‘LB’ machines.
• Intenso A Modo Mio — A Modo Mio system, for home machines (Jolie, Tiny, Deséa, Idola).

Your choice depends first and foremost on your machine.

One capsule makes one coffee, so a box of 100 makes 100 espressos. For example:

• At home, 3 coffees a day: just over a month.
• An office of 10 people, each drinking 2 coffees a day: 20 capsules a day, lasting 5 working days.

For an office, kits of 300, 600 or 1 000 capsules with accessories mean you can order less often.

On the Lavazza scale, from 1 to 13:

• Tales of Venezia (8, also available as a lungo) — pure Arabica, floral and fruity.
• Tales of Milano (9) — pure Arabica from Brazil, milk chocolate, dried fruit and honey.
• Amabile (10) — Arabica and Robusta, full-bodied and smooth.
• Tales of Roma (10) — Arabica and Robusta, hazelnut and chocolate.
• Tales of Capri (11) — Arabica and Robusta, chocolate and dried fruit; it replaces Blue Intenso.
• Tales of Napoli (12) — long roasting time, bitter cocoa and caramel.

Each Blue capsule is sealed, protecting the coffee until brewing without an individual wrapper. Store the box at room temperature, away from heat, moisture and light, and use the capsules before the date shown on the packaging. For recycling, follow the instructions printed on the box and your local authority's guidance.
