Frequently Asked Questions
Amabile or Blue Intenso: which one to choose?
Two blends of Arabica and Robusta, two uses:
- Amabile (this product) — intensity 10 out of 13, amber roast, full-bodied and smooth, chocolatey and fruity; designed for long coffee.
- Blue Intenso — intensity 11 out of 13, dark roast, an intense and creamy espresso with chocolate notes; our best-selling Blue.
For a milder cup, Tales of Venezia (8 out of 13) and Tales of Milano (9 out of 13), both pure Arabica, are lighter.
What is the Lavazza Blue system?
system for offices and public places, launched in 2003 (BLUE for Best Lavazza Ultimate Espresso):
- A self-protected capsule — sealed, it protects the coffee until extraction, without individual packaging.
- "LB" machines — from the compact LB 300 Classy Mini to the LB 2310 .
- A separate system — distinct fromA Modo Mio (the house),Espresso Point and Firma.
The range includes coffees (Blue Intenso, Amabile, Tales of…) and drinks like Cioccolato Fondente or Bevanda Bianca, with a milky taste.
Detailed composition — Arabica or Robusta?
According to Lavazza, the blend consists of two types of beans: Arabica from Brazil and Central America, and Robusta from Southeast Asia. Lavazza does not disclose the proportions of each. The Arabica contributes fruity notes, while the Robusta provides body and a persistent crema.
Compatible Blue machines — what's the difference between the models?
All Lavazza Bluemachines, whose name begins with "LB", accept the Amabile capsule. They differ in size and use, for example:
- LB 300 Classy Mini — compact, 13.5 cm wide: 0.7 L tank, one espresso button and one free dose button.
- LB 1300C Classy Soul — compact, with touchscreen.
- LB 2310 — for offices: 4 L reservoir and 25 used capsule bin.
See the Lavazza Blue.
Compatible with systems other than Lavazza Blue ?
No capsule Blue has a shape specific to its system and only works in a Lavazza Blue. It is not suitable for Nespresso, Dolce Gusto, Delta Q or illy Iperespresso machines, nor for other Lavazza systems (A Modo Mio, Espresso Point, Firma).
How long does a box of 100 capsules last?
One capsule makes one cup: a box of 100 therefore makes 100 coffees. For example:
- Office of 5 people, 2 coffees each per day : 10 capsules per day, i.e. 10 working days.
- Office of 10 people, 2 coffees per day : 20 capsules per day, or 5 days.
- At home, 3 coffees a day : a little over a month.
For an office, having several boxes at once spaces out the orders.
