Carte Noire Strong No. 7 Soft Pods compatible with Senseo machines — Pack of 60

Yes. soft pods Carte Noire pods large format filter paper soft pod machines like Senseo (Philips): Senseo Original and Original Plus, Select, Switch, Maestro, Viva Café, Quadrante, Latte Duo, as well as other soft pod coffee makers of the same format.

They fit into the 1-cup (one pod) or 2-cup (two pods) pod holder. They are not compatible with capsule machines (Nespresso, Dolce Gusto, Tassimo, Lavazza, Delta Q, illy Iperespresso) nor with the 44 mm ESE portafilters of espresso machines: the soft pod is significantly wider and is not compressed for high pressure.

The Corsé N°7 is the middle ground of the three: richer than the Classique N°5, 100% Arabica, balanced, fruity and chocolatey, and less powerful than theEspresso Intense N°8, with its notes of cocoa and spices. Like the N°8, it blends Arabica and Robusta.

Two filter paper formats that are not interchangeable:

• Soft pod (this product) — large filter paper disc, 7g of loosely packed ground coffee , for low-pressure machines like Senseo. Result: a long coffee topped with a fine crema.
• ESE (Easy Serving Espresso) pod — small 44 mm pod , packed coffee, for the portafilter of a high-pressure espresso machine . Result: a tight espresso with crema.

Place one pod in the 1-cup pod holder, rounded side down, close the machine, and press the 1-cup button: you'll get a long coffee topped with a fine crema. For a mug or two cups, place two pods in the 2-cup pod holder and press the 2-cup button.

Each pod is for single use only: remove it after each coffee. The pack of 60 makes 60 cups, or 30 mugs.

The coffee pod is made of filter paper and ground coffee, with no aluminum or plastic casing. Carte Noire states that it is industrially compostable, certified by TÜV Austria according to standard EN 13432: it should not be placed in garden compost or disposed of in nature. Check with your local council to see if they collect this type of waste, perhaps with organic waste.

Once opened, reseal the package tightly and keep it in a dry place, away from heat : filter paper does not protect coffee from air like a closed capsule.

Carte Noire is a French brand created in 1978 by René Monnier , already the founder of Grand'Mère coffees, with a novel idea at the time: a premium pure Arabica coffee in supermarkets, in a flexible, valve-operated package. It was acquired by Jacobs Suchard in 1982, then by Kraft and Mondelēz , before being bought in February 2016 by the Italian group Lavazza .

Its soft pods are roasted and packaged in France, in thehistoric factory in Lavérune (Hérault), and have been Rainforest Alliance since 2023. The brand also sells whole bean, ground, instant coffee and Nespresso compatible capsules.
