illy Espresso Classico — 10 Nespresso compatible capsules

This is illy's coffee: nine Arabica varieties chosen from growing regions in South America , Central America , Africa , and India , harmonized into a single 100% Arabica blend . illy states that it selects only about 1% of the Arabica beans, ensuring they are free of defects. The blend is available in three roast levels: Classico , the mildest, Intenso , and Forte .

At Cafemalin, two illy capsules compatible with Nespresso® Original, made from the same blend of nine Arabica beans:

• Espresso Classico (this ref.) — Classico roast , intensity 5/9, for an espresso of 25 to 40 ml; caramel, orange blossom and jasmine.
• Lungo Intenso — Intenso roast , intensity 7/9, for a 110ml cup; cocoa and dried fruit.

No , only Nespresso® Original machines : Essenza Mini, Pixie, CitiZ, Inissia, Lattissima, Creatista… illy specifies one exception: U, Umilk, Expert, Expert&Milk, Prodigio, and Prodigio&Milk models purchased after July 25, 2016. Vertuo machines use a different capsule format. illy also has its own system, Iperespresso , with its dedicated machines.

This is illy's packaging for its compatible capsules: a box of 10 capsules, 57g of coffee. For regular consumption, Espresso Classico is also available from Cafemalin in packs of 10 boxes, or 100 capsules.

One capsule per cup, or 10 espressos per box: five days at two cups per day. The pack of 10 boxes yields 100.

The capsules are packaged in a protective atmosphere (illy): keep the box dry and away from heat, and use before the printed date. The capsule is made of aluminum. Empty the coffee grounds, which go in the compost, then recycle the capsule according to your local council's guidelines: since 2023, all packaging is recyclable in France (Citeo).
