Taste Profile
Covim OroCrema compatible with Lavazza Firma — the Genoese family roaster Covim (founded in 1974 by the Sacchetti family , now in their third generation) offers its signature OroCrema blend in Lavazza Firma compatible capsules , one of Lavazza's professional B2B systems (successor to Espresso Point 2, geared towards high-end Ho.Re.Ca environments). The blend is an Arabica-Robusta mix with a predominance of Robusta from India and Vietnam for the dense crema characteristic of the OroCrema ("gold of crema"), complemented by Arabica from Brazil and Colombia for aromatic roundness . It is medium-dark roasted in Genoa according to the Ligurian tradition. In the cup: dense body, persistent hazelnut-colored crema , notes of dark chocolate , and sweet spices (cinnamon, nutmeg). The bitterness is balanced by the smooth crema, and the finish is long and lingering . A suitable choice for equipping Lavazza Firma machines in professional settings without resorting to the more expensive official Lavazza capsules .

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Lavazza Firma system? How does it differ from Nespresso and Espresso Point ?
Lavazza Firma is oneof Lavazza's professional B2B systems, geared towards high-end HoReCa environments (offices, hotels, restaurants). Positioning relative to other Lavazza systems:
- Espresso Point (EP) — historical 1990s, 100 plastic capsules per box, light Ho.Re.Ca format (small office, mid-range hotel).
- Lavazza Firma (compatible with this ref.) — successor to EP2 from the 2010s, plastic bidose capsules, oriented towards high-end Ho.Re.Ca and demanding office use.
- A Modo Mio (AMM) — B2C domestic since 2005, plastic capsules 16 per box, household.
- Nespresso Original / Vertuo — Nestlé competitor, aluminum capsules, home and office. No cross-compatibility with Lavazza Firma.
Lavazza Firma is not compatible with Nespresso machines — the capsule formats are completely different. Covim OroCrema capsules compatible with Firma are exclusively for Lavazza Firma Pro machines (Inovy, IN 100, IN 200).
Who is Covim and why does it produce Compat Firma capsules?
Covim — Compagnia Ligure Vittorio Malvezzi — is a Genoese family roaster founded in 1974 by the Sacchetti family , now run by the 3rd generation . Professional history in the Ho.Re.Ca sector : Covim has been supplying bars, restaurants and hotels in Liguria and throughout Italy for 50 years, with a range of beans including Suprema (high-end), Granbar (classic professional), OroCrema (dense crema), Giada (100% premium Arabica), and Aroma (daily balance).
Since the 2010s, Covim has offered its signature blends in multi-system compatible capsules to equip professional establishments using Lavazza Firma machines without being dependent on official Lavazza capsules (which are more expensive and exclusive). An authentic Italian professional alternative.
Nespresso Original or Vertuo compatible?
No — only Lavazza Firma Pro. Covim OroCrema Bidose capsules have a completely different capsule format than Nespresso Original (round aluminum) and Vertuo (large aluminum capsule with barcode). There is no cross-compatibility between systems.
Where can you find Lavazza Firma machines?
The Lavazza Firma system is sold primarily through professional B2B channels : Lavazza Pro distributors, HoReCa resellers, and corporate leasing contracts. Common models:
- Firma Inovy — compact office (2-6 people)
- Firma IN 100 — medium-sized office (6-15 people)
- Firma IN 200 — hotel/restaurant (15+ people)
Cafemalin does not distribute these professional machines (see Lavazza Professional for purchase/leasing), but offers compatible capsules to equip these machines at an optimized price.
How many cups and professional battery life?
100 espressos per box. Small office (2-6 people, 10 cups/day) = ~10 days per box. Medium office (6-15 people, 25 cups/day) = ~4 days per box. Typical high-capacity HoReCa professional format. For regular offices, maintain a rotating stock of 5-10 boxes or subscribe to a monthly delivery contract.
Best before end date, storage and recycling?
Best before date 12-24 months, store at room temperature away from light and moisture. Plastic — recycle via selective sorting of plastic packaging (yellow bin depending on the municipality) or via TerraCycle , which accepts plastic capsules in its Zero Waste Boxes coffee program. Unlike Nespresso aluminum capsules, plastic is less easily recycled in a closed loop — Covim is working on future versions made of compostable bioplastic.
