Lavazza Dolce A Modo Mio, sold by Lavazza as Lungo Dolce, is a mild, velvety and creamy coffee with fruity notes, designed to be enjoyed as a lungo in a large cup. Made from 100% Arabica from Asia and Latin America, with a medium roast. On Lavazza's A Modo Mio scale, from 1 to 13, it scores 6: a step above Soave (5), below Delizioso (8) and Passionale (11). Lavazza also describes it as suitable for drinks made with milk. This box of 36 capsules (8 g of coffee each) is the larger version of the box of 16, for households that drink it every day.

What is the difference between Dolce and Passionale?
Two 100% Arabica A Modo Mio coffees with contrasting profiles:
- Dolce (this product, called Lungo Dolce by Lavazza) — intensity 6/13, medium roast, mild, velvety and creamy, with fruity notes. Designed for a lungo.
- Passionale — intensity 11/13, dark roast, slightly caramelised flavour and chocolate notes. Balanced, full-bodied and mild.
Recommendation: Dolce for a mild everyday lungo, Passionale for a more intense espresso.
Is this the same coffee as the box of 16?
Yes: the same coffee and the same capsule containing 8 g; only the box size changes. The box of 16 is a practical choice for trying this coffee; the box of 36 suits daily use.
Are aluminium capsules recyclable?
Yes, Lavazza A Modo Mio capsules are made from flexible aluminium, a 100% recyclable material. In France, there are several options:
- Lavazza collection points — available in selected partner shops and Lavazza retail outlets in France (collection points listed on lavazza.fr).
- Terracycle Lavazza programme — return used capsules in a prepaid parcel (register online).
- Metal recycling — after removing the coffee grounds (rinse the open capsule), place the aluminium in the metal packaging recycling bin (yellow bin, depending on local guidelines).
Coffee grounds can be composted or used as plant fertiliser.
How many cups per box of 36 capsules?
Exactly 36 espresso — each capsule = 1 cup. Estimated time a box will last:
- Household drinking 2 espresso/day — ~18 days (around 2,5 weeks).

Are these capsules compatible with my A Modo Mio machine?
Yes, all Lavazza A Modo Mio machines accept these capsules — this is Lavazza's proprietary home system, standardised since 2007. Compatible machines: Jolie, Jolie&Milk, Voicy, Deséa, Idola, Espria, Piccina, Tiny, Minù, as well as older models LM910, LM950, LM3100. Not compatible with Lavazza Blue (professional system), Lavazza Espresso Point (a separate EP system), Nespresso, Dolce Gusto, Delta Q, illy Iperespresso. The A Modo Mio capsule has a proprietary aluminium format that differs from other systems.
