inspired blend Blue Mountain-, not 100% certified JBM. Important clarifications:

• Genuine Jamaica Blue Mountain, 100% certified — limited production of approximately 1,000 tons per year worldwide, green beans among the most expensive on the market, reserved for ultra-limited premium selections (specialty roasters, high-end corporate gifts). Recognizable by the Coffee Industry Board of Jamaica on the packaging.
• "Jamaica" or " Blue Mountain style" from mainstream roasters—selections of fine Arabica beans that replicate the aromatic profile of JBM (light roast, delicate body, subtle notes) without being 100% certified JBM. This is the case with Delta Q Jamaica.

It's an accessible choice for discovering a refined Caribbean profile without the prohibitive price of a true certified JBM — Delta does not claim JBM certification.

Jamaica Blue 100% certified Mountain coffee is regulated by the Coffee Industry Board of Jamaica . Four factors contribute to its scarcity:

• Very limited geographical area — only 4 Jamaican parishes (Portland, Saint Andrew, Saint Mary, Saint Thomas), altitudes 900-1,700 m of the Blue Mountains.
• Very low annual production — ~1,000 tonnes/year worldwide (compared to 3-4M tonnes/year in Brazil).
• Strong Asian demand — ~80% of production has been going to Japan since the 1980s, leaving very little availability for Europe/USA.
• High production cost — altitude, steep terrain, skilled workforce, strict quality controls.

The result: a green (unroasted) bean sold for several times the price of an excellent classic specialty coffee.

Three different South American and Caribbean profiles :

• Jamaica (this product) — inspired by Blue Mountain, with notes of white chocolate, white fruits, and almond. Refined Caribbean style. Intensity 4/13 (the mildest of the trio).
• Colombia — notes of ripe fruit, white flowers, honey. Andean aromatic style. Intensity 6/13.
• Brazil — notes of milk chocolate, hazelnut, brown sugar. Sweet and indulgent style. Intensity 6/13.

Choose Jamaica for the finest and most delicate coffee. Choose Colombia for a balanced, aromatic coffee. Choose Brazil for a smooth and indulgent coffee.

Not recommended. The delicate white chocolate/white fruit/sweet almond notes of Jamaica are too subtle to stand up to milk. Milk almost completely masks the subtle aromatic notes, and the intensity (4/13) doesn't hold up against dilution with milk. Recommended uses:

• Pure espresso (30-35 mL) — optimal use. This is where the delicate notes are fully expressed.
• Delicate lungo (100-130 mL) — very good. The lengthening further highlights the sweetness and white chocolate notes.
• After-dinner coffee — excellent. The low intensity and subtlety prevent over-caffeination late in the evening.
• Cappuccino/latte — not recommended. A Brazil or Aqtivus N°8 are better suited to milk.
