Frequently Asked Questions
Why is Mythiq ranked No. 15 when the Delta Q scale stops at No. 14?
Delta Q built its original system on a standard scale from 1 to 14 —EpiQ 14 being the highest in the current range. Mythiq is an exclusive edition launched to mark thepinnacle of Delta Q intensity: its 15 rating symbolically signals that it surpasses all other blends in the range, including EpiQ. It's like an exceptional, off-catalog masterpiece —a capsule for connoisseurs who want to explore the limits of Robusta-style espresso. At Cafemalin, we've chosen the display value 15/13 to visually signal this exceptional status on our unified /13 scale.
Mythiq N°15 vs EpiQ N°14 — the real difference in taste?
A subtle but real difference, extending the same ultra-intense profile:
- EpiQ No. 14 — extra-intense standard, with notes of intense dark chocolate + deep roasted flavor + pronounced wood. The top of the current range.
- Mythiq N°15 — an exclusive edition beyond the scale, with notes of powerful + deep roast + pronounced warm spices. More spice and a longer finish.
Order for bitterness tolerance and intensity: Qharisma (12) < EpiQ (14) < Mythiq (15). Choice according to aromatic preference: EpiQ more woody, Mythiq more spicy.
Is it suitable as a cappuccino or milk-based drink?
Strongly discouraged for lattes, and very cautious for cappuccinos. The Mythiq blend is too intense to handle a lot of milk without becoming excessively bitter or unbalanced. Recommendations:
- Latte (150-200 mL milk) — not recommended. Bitterness and Robusta will be too dominant. Quonvictus No. 5 or Aqtivus No. 8.
- Robusta-style cappuccino (50-70 mL milk max) — suitable for connoisseurs. The coffee flavor remains largely dominant.
- Pure ristretto espresso (20-25 mL) — optimal use. This is where the Mythiq reveals its full mythical power.
What does the name "Mythiq" mean — origin?
Mythiq is a play on words: Delta Q — Q (prefix Delta Q) + mythic = "legendary, exceptional." The name evokes the extraordinary status of this blend: it's the holy grail of full-bodied Delta Q espresso, the one true connoisseurs seek to explore the limits of coffee. The Delta Q convention is shared with Qonvictus (conviction), Aqtivus (active), Qharacter (character), Qalidus (hot/intense in Latin), Qharisma (charisma), and EpiQ (epic). Each name encapsulates the taste promise — for Mythiq, the promise of a mythical and memorable.
Compatible with systems other than Delta Q?
No — the Delta Q capsule is a proprietary format launched in 2007 by Delta Cafés. It requires a Delta Q machine (Mini Qool, Naya, Iconiq, Qosmo, Milk-Q, Qlip, Qonic). Not compatible with Nespresso, Nescafé Dolce Gusto, Lavazza A Modo Mio / Blue /Firma/ Point, or illy Iperespresso. See available Delta Q machines at Cafemalin.
How many cups per box of 10 capsules?
Exactly 10 espressos — each capsule = 1 cup. Estimated battery life:
- Amateur solo 1 cup/day — 10 days, perfect discovery size to test compatibility with your tastes.
- Household 2 cups/day — 5 days, then consider a less intense blend for daily use (preserves the taste buds) and keep the Mythiq for special occasions.
For less intense regular use, consider Qalidus N°10 40-capsule format as a strong daily supplement + keep Mythiq as a special ritual.
