illy Iperespresso Home X7.1 Coffee Machine — White

Only illy Iperespresso Home capsules (illy's proprietary system since 1996). The Iperespresso capsule has a unique double-chamber design that guarantees double emulsion — not interchangeable with Nespresso, Dolce Gusto, Lavazza AMM/Blue/EP/Firma, or Delta Q. The illy Iperespresso Home capsule range is available at Cafemalin .

• Espresso Classico — signature blend 100% Arabica, medium.
• Espresso Intenso — darker roast blend, full body.
• Espresso Forte — dark roast.
• Decaffeinated — see Iperespresso Decaffeinated pack 90.
• Single-origin varieties — Ethiopia, Brazil, Colombia, Guatemala (Arabica Selection edition).

Iperespresso is the proprietary capsule launched by illy in 1996.Its specificity lies in the capsule itself: a double chamber (compression chamber + emulsion chamber) which causes a double emulsion of the coffee during extraction — step 1: pressurized water meets the coffee in the first chamber; step 2: the pre-espresso meets the air in the second chamber, creating the signature dense illy foam.

The result in the cup : the crema is denser, more persistent, and more stable than a classic espresso—it stays in the cup for several minutes without collapsing. This is the signature differentiator of illy compared to other capsule systems.

Two ranges :

• Iperespresso Home (this product) — for domestic machines (X7.1, Y3.3, X1 Anniversary…).
• Iperespresso Professional — for professional machines (office, hotel). Different capsules, not interchangeable.

The illy X7.1 Home is available in 3 colors to suit different kitchens:

• White (this product) — clean Scandinavian, bright and light kitchen.
• Black — an intense contemporary, suitable for industrial or dark minimalist styles.
• Red — illy's signature red color , warm and bold, Italian style.

The technical specifications are identical : 1250 W, 15 bars, 1 L tank, dimensions W 13 × D 30 × H 27 cm. The choice is purely aesthetic.

The X7.1 does not have a built-in steam wand. To prepare a cappuccino or latte at home, there are two solutions:

1. illy separate electric milk frother — MilkFrother X1 illy or generic equivalent (Aeroccino, Bodum). Heats and froths milk in 2 minutes. Pour the froth over the illy espresso — ready-made cappuccino.
2. Hand whisk + microwave — heat 150 mL of whole milk in the microwave for about 1 minute, then whisk with an inexpensive battery-operated milk frother. A simple and economical solution.

For an automatic cappuccino with integrated steam nozzle, consider other models in the illy range (Y3.3 with Milk-Frother included) or the Lavazza AMM Idola system (integrated steam nozzle).

Simple maintenance , suitable for premium home use:

• Emptying the used capsule container — every 8-10 espressos.
• Water tank refill — every ~12-15 espressos.
• Descaling — every 3-6 months depending on local water hardness (indicator light on the machine). Use the official illy descaling kit or a universal descaler compatible with capsule coffee machines.
• Exterior cleaning — damp microfiber cloth on the white lacquered finish; avoid any abrasive or colored products that could stain the surface (white marks more easily than black).

illy also offers a French after-sales service for machines under 2-year warranty — wear parts (seals, extraction unit) replaced by an approved technician.

illy caffè is an Italian coffee roaster based in Trieste (Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Northeast Italy), founded in 1933 by Francesco Illy. Renowned for its 100% Arabica blend —a mix of nine carefully selected origins from around the world—illy is present in over 140 countries and supplies most of the leading hotels and high-end restaurants . The brand invented the Iperespresso capsule in 1996, a proprietary double-emulsion system. The Illy family still owns the company today (Andrea Illy is president). At Cafemalin, you'll find the complete illy range: Home & Pro machines, Iperespresso capsules, whole bean, ground, decaffeinated, and single-origin coffees.
