Two completely separate ranges from illy:

• Iperespresso Home — range for domestic use. Machines calibrated for 3–10 espressos/day (X7.1, Y3.3, X1 Anniversary). Home capsules, 6,7 g, standard boiler, standard pump.
• Iperespresso Professional — MetodO system — professional B2B range. Machines calibrated for 20–60 espressos/day (X7.1 Pro, other professional models). Pro capsules, ~7,5–8 g, reinforced boiler, professional pump for fast cycles.

The capsules are NOT interchangeable: Home capsules do not fit the Pro machine, and vice versa. Check the system carefully when buying capsules. At Cafemalin, the ranges are clearly separated — see Iperespresso Pro Décaféiné for an example of a pro capsule.

The X7.1 Pro is optimised for:

• Medium-sized offices with 5–20 people — staff coffee room / workplace kitchenette. Typically 20–40 espressos/day.
• Premium professional practices — high-end medical, notarial, legal, architectural or osteopathic practices. Complimentary signature coffee for clients.
• Premium coworking spaces — machine on display in the reception area, creating a brand signature.
• Independent hotels / premium B&Bs — in reception or on guest floors.
• Small restaurants / bistros — alongside a traditional espresso machine.
• Concept stores / showrooms — complimentary coffee for visitors.

For domestic use (less intensive), the black X7.1 Home is more suitable (lower purchase price + cheaper Home capsules).

Only illy Iperespresso Professional capsules — illy's proprietary MetodO system. A specific format that is not interchangeable with:

• illy Iperespresso Home — the domestic version (different capsule format).
• Nespresso, Dolce Gusto, Lavazza AMM/Blue/EP/Firma, Delta Q, 44 mm ESE pods — all competing systems.

Iperespresso Pro range available at Cafemalin:

• Espresso Classico Pro — signature 100% Arabica blend with a professional dose.
• Espresso Intenso Pro — darker roast for discerning palates.
• Décaféiné Pro pack 18 — for customers who want coffee without caffeine.

Pro maintenance is more frequent than for domestic use:

• Emptying the used capsule container — every 15–20 espressos (indicator light on the machine). For office use, expect to empty it 2–3 times/day.
• Refilling the water tank — approximately every 25–30 espressos (2 L tank). Expect 1–2 refills/day with intensive use.
• Descaling — every 1–3 months depending on water hardness and usage rate. Do not put off descaling when the alert appears (limescale damages the boiler and pump faster in professional use than in domestic use).
• Cleaning the coffee outlet — rinse 1 times/week with a professional coffee machine cleaning tablet (removes oily coffee residues).
• Professional maintenance contract — for very intensive use (>50 espressos/day), consider an annual contract with an authorised illy technician for a preventive maintenance visit.

The X7.1 Pro is covered by a manufacturer's warranty lasting 2 years for parts + labour. In the event of a fault:

1. Contact Cafemalin B2B — Cafemalin customer service handles liaison with illy France after-sales service so you do not have to contact them directly. Initial remote diagnosis by phone.
2. Visit by an authorised illy technician — if remote diagnosis is not sufficient, a technician visits your premises (for professional use), or you collect the machine for return to the workshop.
3. Loan machine (subject to availability) — in some cases, Cafemalin may offer a loan machine to avoid service interruptions in your office or establishment.
4. Preventive maintenance contract — for very intensive use, a proactive annual contract (technician visits 1 times/year) prevents faults before they occur.

Typical Pro wear parts: seals, brew group, boiler heating element (after 3–5 years of intensive use). These parts are covered by the warranty for 2 years in the event of a manufacturing defect.
