Two different positionings within the illy Iperespresso Home :

• Y3.3 (this product) — compact entry-level machine. Dimensions: W 12 × H 27 cm, ~820 W, 0.75 L water tank, 2 buttons (espresso + coffee). Ideal for small kitchens, studios, and narrow offices.
• X7.1 — Premium Home. Dimensions: W 13 × D 30 × H 27 cm, 1250 W, 1 L tank, richer interface. Target household of 1-3 people demanding speed and finish.

The quality in the cup is identical : same Iperespresso system, same capsules, same illy 100% Arabica blend. Only the ease of use (heating speed, water tank capacity, ergonomics) differs.

The illy Y3.3 Home is available in 2 colors:

• Black (this product) — intense contemporary color , industrial style, minimalist or dark kitchen.
• Light blue — a calming sky blue, blends well with pastel, colorful contemporary, or Japandi style kitchens.

The technical specifications are identical (~820 W, 15 bars, 0.75 L, W 12 × H 27 cm). The choice is purely aesthetic.

Iperespresso is the proprietary capsule launched by illy in 1996.Its unique feature lies in the capsule itself : a double-chamber (compression + emulsification) that creates a double emulsion during extraction. In the cup: a denser, more persistent, and more stable crema than a classic espresso—it lasts for several minutes without collapsing. This is illy's signature differentiator.

Two distinct ranges :

• Iperespresso Home (this product) — for domestic machines (Y3.3, X7.1, X1 Anniversary).
• Iperespresso Professional — for professional/CHR machines. Different capsules, not interchangeable.

The Y3.3 does not have a built-in steam wand. Two solutions for preparing a cappuccino or latte at home:

1. Separate electric milk frother — MilkFrother X1 illy or equivalent (Aeroccino, Bodum). Standalone unit ~€50-80, heats and froths milk in 2 minutes. Pour the froth over the illy espresso — cappuccino ready.
2. Hand whisk + microwave — heat 150 mL of whole milk in the microwave for about 1 minute, then whisk with a battery-operated milk frother (10-15 €). Simple and economical solution.
