Taste Profile
Delta Cafés Signature Intense is Delta's top-of-the-range, full-bodied blend — the benchmark for lovers of powerful and enveloping espresso in the traditional Italian style . A predominantly Arabica blend (South American) enriched with African and Asian Robusta for strength and crema, it is dark roasted in the Italian style (deeper than the classic Portuguese medium roast).
In the cup : a full-bodied and enveloping espresso , a very dense, dark hazelnut-colored crema , signature notes of bitter dark cocoa, sweet spices (white pepper, cardamom), intense roasted notes , and a finish with hints of blond tobacco . A very generous body (9/10), well-integrated acidity, and a pronounced yet elegant bitterness (7/10) — the perfect expression of traditional Italian espresso, interpreted through the Portuguese lens.
A premium alternative to Delta Ritual 500g (an accessible everyday blend) and a cousin of Delta Signature Crema 500g (same Signature range but with a rounder, honeyed profile and less body). An excellent choice for those who were hesitant about the Delta Platinum Pro pack : Signature Intense offers a similar profile on a household scale.

Frequently Asked Questions
What distinguishes Signature Intense from other Delta grains?
The Signature Intense is Delta's premium, full-bodied blend — clearly positioned against other references:
- Deeper roast than a Delta Ritual or Superior (Italian-style dark roast vs classic Portuguese medium roast).
- Enriched Robusta blend for strength and dense crema (single origin Brazil/Colombia are 100% Arabica).
- Premium positioning Signature range — carefully selected origins, reinforced quality control.
What is the difference with the Delta Signature Crema 500g?
The two Signature Delta models offer complementary profiles:
- Signature Intense (this ref.) — full-bodied, dark cocoa, spices, intensely roasted. Intensity 8/10. Target: lovers of strong Italian-style espresso.
- Signature Crema — round, with honey and chocolate notes, very dense crema. Intensity 6/10. Targets those who like body without overly pronounced bitterness.
Is it suitable for gentle methods (V60, French Press)?
Less suitable. Signature Intense is optimized for espresso —its dark roast and Robusta proportion make the profile too full-bodied and bitter for filter brewing. The result in French press: a taste dominated by intense roasted notes, with little aromatic finesse.
For gentle methods, opt instead for a single origin 100% Arabica: Delta Colombia 500g (floral/fruity notes) or Delta Brazil 500g (round, sweet cocoa).
Recommended for cappuccino or latte?
Excellent choice — the strength of the Intense blend cuts through heated milk and foams perfectly. A cappuccino or latte made with this blend retains pronounced espresso notes without being overwhelmed by the milk, unlike a mild 100% Arabica blend which completely disappears in a cappuccino. It's the ideal blend for indulgent milk-based drinks.
Optimal storage?
500g bag with resealable zip closure and degassing valve. Store in a cool, dry place away from light (pantry). Never refrigerate. Once opened, consume within 3 to 4 weeks. Heavily roasted blends (like Signature Intense) are slightly more resistant to oxidation than light 100% Arabica coffees—but still aim for 4 weeks to preserve the aromatic quality.
