Taste Profile
Delta Cafés Gold 5kg Pack — the iconic Delta Cafés blend in a medium office or small restaurant size. Arabica-Robusta assembled by the master roasters of Campo Maior (Alentejo, Portugal) according to the traditional Delta method since 1961 : selection of Arabica from South and Central America combined with a touch of African Robusta for structure and crema.
In the cup : a well-rounded and indulgent, with a dense, hazelnut-coloredand signature notes of dark chocolate, roasted nuts (hazelnut, almond), and sweet spices. Controlled bitterness, subtle acidity, and a remarkably long finish. The coffee that over 80% of Portuguese people drink at the counter —versatile for espresso, bean-to-cup machines, and filter coffee makers.
5 kg pack = 10 x 500 g bags, the same bag size as the standard Delta Gold 500 g pack, each sealed with a degassing valve: one opened bag is consumed within a few days in a bean-to-cup coffee machine, the other nine remain sealed. This pack is ideal for offices with 10 to 20 employees, small restaurants, and tea rooms consuming 2 to 5 kg per month — a saving of 16% compared to buying 10 bags separately.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the 5kg pack delivered in one bag or in separate bags?
In 10 bags of 500geach, sealed with a degassing valve — exactly the same as the individual bag sold under the reference Delta Gold 500g. This packaging allows for bag-by-bag rotation : only the currently used bag is exposed to air, while the others retain their aroma until opened. The bags are grouped together in a cardboard box for shipping.
What are the savings compared to buying 10 x 500g bags separately?
The price of this pack is compared on this page to the price of 10 Delta Gold 500g purchased individually— a saving of 16% at the current price. The 5kg pack is the entry-level option for offices with 10 to 20 employees, small restaurants, and tea rooms consuming 2 to 5kg per month. For more intensive use, see the Delta Gold 10kg Pack (20 sachets).
How many cups of espresso can I make with this 5kg pack?
The yield depends on the dosage used:
- Strong espresso (7 g/cup) : ~715 cups, or ~71 per bag.
- Standard espresso (9 g/cup) : ~555 cups.
- Long coffee / lungo (10 g/cup) : ~500 cups.
- Filter coffee maker (60 g / L) : ~83 litres or ~415 cups of 200 mL.
For an office of 10-15 people drinking 2 espressos/day, a 5 kg pack covers approximately 3-4 weeks, at a rate of one 500 g bag every 2 to 3 days.
Is Delta Gold compatible with all bean-to-cup machines?
Yes, Delta Gold is perfectly suited to automatic bean-to-cup machines : Philips (LatteGo, 2200-5500), Delonghi (Magnifica, Dinamica, Eletta), Jura (E, S, Z, ENA, GIGA), Melitta (Caffeo, Barista, LatteSelect), Krups (Evidence, Intuition), and Saeco. The Arabica-Robusta blend produces a dense crema that compensates well for entry-level to mid-range machines without pre-infusion. We recommend a medium-fine grind (4-6/10). A 500g bag fills the bean hopper of most office machines in one go.
Best before end date and storage conditions?
The best before date is printed on each 500g bag. Store unopened bags at room temperature (18-22°C), away from light, heat, and humidity. Avoid refrigerating (coffee absorbs moisture and odors). Once a bag is opened, reseal it carefully (or transfer it to an airtight, opaque container) and consume within 3-4 weeks for optimal flavor—with 500g bags, this timeframe is rarely reached in office or restaurant use.
What is the difference between the Delta Gold 5, 10, 20 and 30 kg packs?
Same coffee, same 500g bags, only the quantity changes:
- Delta Gold 5 kg pack (this ref.) — 10 sachets, target office 10-20 people.
- Delta Gold 10 kg pack — 20 sachets, target medium office / restaurant.
- Delta Gold 20 kg pack — 40 bags, target hotel / large restaurant / cafeteria.
- Delta Gold 30 kg pack — 60 bags, target intensive cafeteria / hotel group.
To discover the blend, choose the Delta Gold 500g or the Delta Gold 1kg (2 x 500g sachets).
