Taste Profile
Kimbo Extra Cream is the signature creamy, full-bodied from Kimbo (a Neapolitan roaster founded in 1963 by the Rubino brothers). The name Extra Cream refers to the exceptionally dense and persistent crema it develops in the cup—thick, smooth, and bouncy under the spoon. It's composed of 40% Arabica and 60% Robusta —the Arabica beans come from Central and South America, complemented by premium Indian Robusta that provides the body and signature crema.
In the cup : a full-bodied and enveloping espresso , with a very dense, dark hazelnut-colored crema and signature notes of chocolate, cinnamon, black pepper , and hints of licorice . A generous body (8/10), a pronounced yet elegant bitterness, and a remarkable length on the palate—the perfect signature of traditional Neapolitan espresso served in Italian bars and trattorias. Also excellent as a cappuccino and in milk-based drinks : its crema rises through the heated milk without being crushed.
The 3 kg pack is ideal for small offices with 5-15 employees (supply of approximately 3-4 weeks), small Italian restaurants/trattorias, and neighborhood bars serving espresso and coffee. A smaller 1 kg Extra Cream available for those new to the product, while a 6 x 1 kg Extra Cream pack suited for intensive use in the HoReCa sector.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why does Kimbo Extra Cream develop such a dense cream?
The exceptionally dense crema of Extra Cream is a direct result of its 60% Robusta —Robusta beans contain more soluble solids and lipids than Arabica, producing a thick, persistent, and bouncy. Add a medium to dark roast that develops the essential oils and quality Indian Robusta (the best for crema according to Neapolitan tradition), and you get the signature Kimbo Extra Cream : a crema that lasts over 90 seconds in the cup, thick enough point bring sugar to its surface. To preserve it: preheat the cup (hot water before serving) and drink immediately.
Who is this 3 x 1 kg pack intended for?
The 3kg Extra Cream pack is calibrated for small-scale use in the hospitality industry / office, for amateur Italian espresso enthusiasts :
- Small office for 5-15 employees — shared grain machine, autonomy ~3-4 weeks.
- Small trattoria/pizzeria — signature Neapolitan end-of-meal espresso, autonomy ~2-3 weeks at 30 espressos/day.
- Neighborhood bar / cafe-bistro — 50-80 espressos/day, autonomy ~1-1.5 weeks.
- Amateur espresso burner — battery life ~3-4 months with regular use.
For lighter use: single 1 kg bag. For more intensive use: 6 x 1 kg pack.
Is Extra Cream compatible with my medium grind bean-to-cup machine?
Yes, absolutely. Extra Cream performs well on all automatic bean-to-cup machines : Philips (LatteGo, 2200-5500), De'Longhi (Magnifica, Dinamica, Eletta), Jura (E, S, Z, ENA, GIGA), Melitta (Caffeo, Barista), Krups (Evidence, Intuition), Saeco, and Siemens EQ. To maximize the signature crema, set the grind selector to medium-fine (4-5/10) and the dose to 8-10 g. The medium to dark roast develops oils that produce a dense crema even in an automatic machine—the Kimbo blend best expresses its qualities even without barista settings.
Difference Extra Cream vs Prestige vs Cremoso vs Armonico?
The Kimbo range of whole bean coffee is available in different intensity and aromatic profiles :
- Prestige — intensity 5-6/10, 80/20 Arabica-Robusta, smooth and approachable, caramel/biscuits/hazelnut.
- Armonico — intensity 7/10, 70/30 Arabica-Robusta, balanced fruit/caramel/cane sugar.
