Taste Profile
Kimbo Prestige belongs to Kimbo's professional range of whole bean coffee, sold in 1 kg bags. It is a blend ofArabica and Robusta with an Arabica predominance (65% Arabica on Kimbo's UK product sheet, more at some distributors), with a medium roast.
In the cup, Kimbo describes it as very well-balanced : a medium body, elegant sweetness, notes of caramel, biscuit , and dried fruits like dates, a fine acidity, and a spicy, lingering finish. After Kimbo Organic, it's the mildest of the Kimbo whole bean coffees in the catalog; it can be enjoyed as an espresso or a cappuccino.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does Kimbo Prestige coffee beans taste like?
Kimbo describes it as a very well-balanced coffee : medium body, elegant sweetness, notes of caramel , biscuit and dried fruit , fine acidity, and a spicy, lingering finish. It's a blend of Arabica and Robusta , predominantly Arabica , and rounder than the Robusta-dominant Extra Cream
Is Kimbo Prestige a medium roast?
Yes. Kimbo advertises a roaston its English product information sheets. This produces a well-rounded cup, dominated by caramel and dried fruit notes, rather than a bitter espresso. The beans are suitable for espresso, cappuccino, and Italian coffee makers.
Kimbo Prestige or Kimbo Extra Cream: which one to choose?
Both are medium roasted, but their blends are contrasting:
- Prestige (this coffee) — predominantly Arabica, balanced, caramel and dried fruit: a well-rounded espresso to drink on its own.
- Extra Cream — Robusta dominant, full body, assertive taste, thick crema: for a stronger espresso or cappuccino.
How many cups can you make with 1 kg of Kimbo Prestige?
Approximately 140 espressos with a 7g dose, and 100 to 110 with 9 to 10g, the dose used by a bean-to-cup machine set to a stronger coffee. Using a portafilter, with a double espresso (14 to 18g), expect 55 to 70 cups.
Is the Kimbo Prestige suitable for bean-to-cup machines?
Yes : these are whole beans, to be ground just before extraction, either by the grinder of an automatic machine or by a grinder for a portafilter machine or a Moka pot. For espresso, start with a fine grind and adjust until you reach a flow time of 25 to 30 seconds.
Is the Kimbo Prestige available in a professional format?
How to store an opened 1kg bag?
Reseal the bag tightly after each use, expelling any air, or transfer the beans to an opaque, airtight container, away from heat and light. Avoid the refrigerator: humidity and odors will damage the beans. A sealed bag will keep until the date printed on it; Kimbo states an 18-month shelf life for Prestige.
