Kimbo Prestige is the brand's classic Neapolitan blend, the one that has defined the Kimbo signature for decades. It's composed of Arabica-Robusta beans (approximately 60% Robusta / 40% Arabica), roasted darker in the Neapolitan style (contrasting with the lighter Piedmontese roast, like Lavazza). The result in the cup: a very full-bodied espresso, intense body , a pronounced bitterness balanced by the sweetness of the roast, dominant notes of dark chocolate, warm spices (cinnamon, cardamom, pepper), and a deep roast . The crema produced by the group head is dense and long-lasting . It's espresso just like in Naples : powerful, aromatic, and uncompromising.

Why is the Neapolitan style Kimbo different from Lavazza or Delta?
Three distinct Italian schools of roasting:
- Naples (Kimbo) — darker roast , more full-bodied blends , intense body, pronounced bitterness. Neapolitan espresso tradition .
- Turin (Lavazza) — balanced medium roast , more versatile multi-origin blends , moderate body, smooth crema.
- Trieste (Illy) — lighter roast , finer 100% Arabica blend , delicate body, floral aromas.
- Portugal (Delta) — Portuguese tradition, medium to dark roast, rounder and more indulgent.

Is Kimbo Prestige stronger than Lavazza Gran Espresso?
Both blends are in the same very full-bodied :
- Kimbo Prestige — intensity 9/10, darker Neapolitan roast, spicier and toastier.
- Lavazza Gran Espresso — intensity 10/10, Piedmontese style slightly more balanced, more cocoa.
In practice, the Gran Espresso is officially one point more intense , but the Prestige has a more "typically" Neapolitan character . The choice comes down to style preference : traditional, full-bodied Neapolitan (Kimbo) versus very strong, balanced Piedmontese (Lavazza).
Is the Kimbo Prestige suitable for entry-level bean-to-cup machines?
Yes, very good. Robusta-dominant blends like Prestige are perfectly suited to entry-level bean-to-cup machines (De'Longhi Magnifica S, Philips 3200, Melitta Caffeo). Robusta naturally a dense crema and a generous body, which compensates for the technical limitations of machines without pre-infusion or with variable pressure. Settings: grind 4-5/10, dose 10g, extraction 25-30 seconds for 30-40ml.
