Frequently asked questions
What do illy Brasile coffee beans taste like?
illy gives it an intensity rating of 5 out of 9. It describes an aroma balanced between pleasant acidity and bitterness, characteristic of its origin, with notes of caramel and dried fruit.
What is the Arabica Selection range?
What does regenagri® certification mean?
regenagri® certifies regenerative agriculture practices that aim to preserve biodiversity, soil fertility and natural cycles. illy states that it only selects coffee grown on regenagri®-certified farms in Cerrado Mineiro for this coffee (certification no. CU-897057).
Which grind for each brewing method?
illy recommends this coffee for espresso, lungo, moka pots and filter coffee. Grind just before brewing: fine for espresso and lungo, medium-fine for a moka pot, and medium for filter coffee.
How many cups does a 250 g tin make?
Around 35 espressos using 7 g each, or 25 double espressos using 10 g each. For filter coffee (around 60 g per litre), a tin makes just over 4 litres of coffee.
How should you store the coffee after opening?
The tin is pressurised: the air is removed and replaced with nitrogen, protecting the coffee until it is opened. After opening, illy recommends storing it away from light and heat, preferably in the fridge, with the lid firmly closed. Warning: the rim of the opened tin may be sharp.
