Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between Aroma Top and Aroma Più?
These are the two Lavazza bar blends, with distinct positioning:
- Aroma Top (this product) — 100% premium Arabica, light roast, very delicate notes (flowers, honey). High-end gastronomic.
- Aroma Più — Arabica-Robusta with notes of chocolate and dried fruit. Positioned for everyday bars, more mainstream.
Choice according to use: Aroma Top for a signature coffee on a gourmet menu, Aroma Più for the high-volume bar.
Does a 100% Arabica coffee offer a nice crema in the cup?
The crema of a 100% Arabica is lighter and finer than that of an Arabica-Robusta blend: it's the Robusta that provides the dense and long-lasting creamy oils. On the Aroma Top, expect a light gold crema, fine and elegant, rather than a chocolate brown crema. To optimize the crema: use a pre-infusion machine, precise grinding, a 9-10g dose, and a 25-30 second extraction. The crema is an indicator of the beans' freshness—if it disappears quickly (
How many cups can I make with 1 kg of Aroma Top?
Yield depends on dosage:
- Strong espresso (7g) : ~143 cups.
- Standard espresso (9 g) : ~111 cups.
- Filter coffee maker (60 g / L) : ~83 cups of 200 mL.
Bar (100 espressos/day): ~1.5 days per kilo. Home (4 cups/day): ~4-5 weeks.
Is the Aroma Top compatible with my bean-to-cup coffee machine?
Yes, all brands : De'Longhi (Magnifica, Dinamica, Eletta), Jura (E, S, Z, GIGA), Philips (LatteGo, 2200-5500), Melitta (Caffeo, Barista), Krups (Evidence, Intuition), Saeco. Recommended settings: medium grind 5/10, dose 9-10 g, temperature 92 °C, extraction 25-30 s. Note: delicate and floral, may seem light to those accustomed to full-bodied Italian blends (Kimbo Prestige, Lavazza Gran Espresso) — this is normal and intentional, not a flaw.
How to store the 1kg bag to preserve the aroma?
Whole bean coffee is more stable than ground coffee. After opening, carefully reseal the Lavazza bag (integrated zip closure) or transfer the beans to an airtight, opaque container. Store at room temperature (18-22°C), away from light and heat sources. Avoid the refrigerator (humidity and odor absorption). A sealed 1 kg bag can be stored until the best before date (18-24 months). Once opened, ideally consume within 3-4 weeks for optimal flavor.
Is there a ground or capsule version of Aroma Top?
On Cafemalin, the Aroma Top range is primarily available in 1 kg bags of whole beans (this product). For use with a filter coffee maker without a grinder, opt for an equivalent ground Lavazza coffee (Qualità Rossa or Qualità Oro ground). For use with capsules, the Lavazza range offers premium 100% Arabica versions for the A Modo Mio, Blue , and Espresso Point.
