What is an Intenso Lungo?
A lungo is a longer espresso, prepared with more water: illy recommends a 110ml. Intenso refers to the roasting: darker than Classico, it produces a rich and full-bodied coffee with notes of cocoa and dried fruit (intensity 7/9).
Lungo Intenso or Espresso Classico: what's the difference?
Two Nespresso-compatible illy capsules made from the same blend of nine Arabica beans, roasted and dosed differently:
- Espresso Classico — Classico roast , illy's mildest (5/9), for an espresso of 25 to 40 ml; caramel, orange blossom and jasmine.
- Lungo Intenso (this ref.) — Intenso (7/9), for a 110 ml cup; cocoa and dried fruit.
Compatible with Nespresso Vertuo?
No , only Nespresso® Original machines , except, according to illy, the U, Umilk, Expert, Expert&Milk, Prodigio and Prodigio&Milk models purchased after July 25, 2016. Vertuo machines use a different capsule format.
How many cups per box?
One capsule per cup, i.e. 10 lungos per box: five days at two cups per day.
Which illy capsules are compatible with Nespresso at Cafemalin ?
Two coffees from the same blend of nine Arabica: EspressoClassico (Classico roast, espresso), in boxes of 10 or in packs of 10 boxes, and Lungo Intenso (Intenso roast, lungo — this ref.).
Conservation and recycling?
The capsules are packaged in a protective atmosphere (illy): keep the box dry and away from heat, and use before the printed date. The capsule is made of aluminum. Empty the coffee grounds, which go in the compost, then recycle the capsule according to your local council's guidelines: since 2023, all packaging is recyclable in France (Citeo).
