Taste Profile
Gold Selection is the professional bar version of the renowned Lavazza Qualità Oro blend —one of the world's most celebrated 100% Arabica blends , launched in the 1950s as the first modern Italian Arabica blend. The blend is composed of selected Arabicas from Central America, South America, and Africa —a combination that brings together the full body of Brazilian Arabica, the floral finesse of Ethiopian Arabica, and the vibrant acidity of Colombian Arabica.
Light to medium roast — the Italian school of premium blending that preserves all the aromatic finesse of Arabica without ever veering into burnt notes. The absence of Robusta results in a finer, less persistent crema than Super Crema, but a significantly richer aromatic expression in the cup.
In the cup: a fine and refined, with a gentle attack of white flowers and honey, a balanced body supported by notes of ripe fruit andsweet citrus, and a long, fresh finish. Positioned for fine dining —the premium Lavazza blend for gourmet bars and upscale hotels.

What is Lavazza's "Qualità Oro" blend?
Qualità Oro ("Gold Quality" in Italian) is one of Lavazza's most iconic blends. Launched in the 1950s , this 100% Arabica blend was the first modern Italian Arabica blend designed for espresso—at a time when Italian espresso was predominantly Robusta-based. The professional bar version is called Gold Selection and retains the same 100% Arabica DNA with a bar-calibrated roast. A classic of premium Italian coffee.
100% premium Arabica — what's the difference in the cup?
A 100% Arabica blend is clearly distinguished from an Arabica-Robusta blend in 3 point:
- Less dense crema — Arabica contains fewer crema-forming oils than Robusta. Fine, golden crema, less persistent.
- Richer aromatic expression — Arabica naturally develops floral, fruity, sweet notes absent from Robusta.
- Brighter acidity — Arabica has a more pronounced natural acidity, often perceived as fresh and sparkling.
Gastronomic positioning — for customers who appreciate refined coffee rather than strong espresso.
Who exactly is this 6kg pack intended for?
Target market: gourmet bars / high-end hotels :
- Gourmet bar / specialty coffee — clientele who appreciate fine Arabica.
- Gourmet restaurant — fine dining coffee, coffee menu.
- 4-5 star hotel — premium buffet breakfast, lounge, after-work bar.
- Upscale corporate cafeteria — lawyers, consulting firms, premium image.
Estimated yield ~857 espressos at standard 7g dose.
How to store the 6 x 1kg bags to preserve freshness?
Each 1 kg bag is sealed under a protected atmosphere (nitrogen) and equipped with a degassing valve. As long as a bag remains unopened, it will keep until the indicated best before date (18-24 months). Store unopened bags at room temperature (18-22°C), away from light—do not refrigerate. Once a bag is opened, reseal it carefully or transfer the contents to an airtight, opaque container, and ideally consume within 3 to 4 weeks. A 100% Arabica blend is even more susceptible to oxidation than a Robusta blend.
When will this item be back in stock?
The Gold Selection 6kg pack is currently temporarily out of stock. Restocking is estimated in 2-4 weeks. Available alternatives: Gold Selection 1kg (same blend, smaller size), Gold Selection 3kg , or Crema e Aroma 6kg (alternative Arabica-Robusta blend).
