Delta Cafés Platinum is the premium from the Portuguese company Delta. Delta describes it as a blend ofCentral American Arabica, which provides aromatic finesse and sweetness, and Asian Robusta, which gives it body and crema structure. Slowly and naturally roasted in Campo Maior (Alentejo, Portugal), using the company's own method since 1961.
In the cup : an espresso with an intense body and a smooth, lingering flavor, a dense, hazelnut-colored crema, and notes of ripe fruit, caramel, and chocolate. The acidity is present but well-integrated, with a restrained bitterness. Alongside the Delta Gold, the Platinum is the round and elegant in the range—the after-dinner coffee of choice in restaurants and hotels in Portugal.
1 kg pack = 2 x 500 g bags, the same bag as the single-serve Delta Platinum 500 g bag, each sealed with a degassing valve: one bag is opened in the bean hopper, the other retains its aroma. What is the difference between Delta Platinum and Delta Gold?
Two iconic Delta blends, both with an intensity of 8/10 but with distinct characters:
- Delta Platinum (this product) — top-of-the-line : Central American Arabica and Asian Robusta, slow and natural roasting, notes of ripe fruit, caramel and chocolate, round, smooth and long.
- Delta Gold 1 kg — signature blend , Arabica-Robusta, with notes of dark chocolate and dried fruit, for a more direct and chocolatey. The versatile bestseller, also available in two 500g bags.

Is the 1kg format a single bag?
No: Delta Platinum 1 kg consists of two 500 g bags, the same as the single 500 g bag, each sealed with its own degassing valve. This is an advantage for freshness: one bag in the bean hopper, the other sealed until its turn. The price per kilo is compared on this page to that of the two bags purchased separately — a saving of 19% at the current price.
Is it suitable for entry-level grain machines?
Yes , the Delta Platinum works with all bean-to-cup machines, including entry-level models (De'Longhi Magnifica S, Philips 3200 series, Melitta Caffeo). The Asian Robusta content of the blend produces a dense and stable crema , and the slow roasting process minimizes oily residue in the grinder. Recommended settings: medium-fine grind, 8-9g dose , 92°C water, 25-30 second extraction.
How many cups can you make with 1 kg (2 bags of 500 g)?
Standard yield: ~143 cups at 7g (short espresso), or ~71 per bag, or ~111 cups at 9g (standard espresso). Household with 4 cups per day: 5-6 weeks. Office of 10 people with 2 coffees each: ~1 week.
How do I store my Delta Platinum beans?
The best before date is printed on each bag. Store sealed bags in a dry place at 18-22°C, away from light. Open only one bag at a time: once tightly resealed or transferred to an airtight, opaque container, it is best consumed within 3 to 4 weeks. Do not refrigerate or freeze : condensation damages the beans.
Is Platinum coffee certified organic or fair trade?
