Taste Profile
Delta Platinum is the premium blend from Delta Cafés. Delta describes it as a blend of Central American Arabica , for its aromatic finesse and sweetness, and Asian Robusta , for its body and crema retention. It is slow and naturally roasted in Campo Maior (Alentejo, Portugal), following the Portuguese method: full development of the sugars without burning the bean.
In the cup , an espresso with an intense body and a long, smooth flavor , a dense, hazelnut-colored crema , and notes of ripe fruit, caramel, and chocolate . The acidity is present but well-integrated, and the bitterness is restrained—the round and elegant cup of the Delta range, the coffee of choice for after-dinner drinks in restaurants and hotels throughout Portugal.
The XL 20 kg pack contains 40 x 500 g bags, the same bag size as the individual Delta Platinum 500 gbags, each sealed with a degassing valve. This format is designed for establishments with high traffic : bistros and brasseries (60-100 espressos/day, 4-6 week supply), restaurants (30-60 espressos/day), 3-4 star hotels (breakfast + lounge), offices with 30-60 employees — a 19% saving compared to buying 40 bags separately. A larger format, Platinum 30 kg (60 bags), is available for high-volume hospitality establishments.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference with the Delta Platinum 30 kg pack?
The same coffee, the same 500g bag; only the number of bags changes. The choice depends on your establishment's weekly customer traffic :
- Delta Platinum 20 kg (this ref.) — 40 bags, ideal for 60-100 espressos/day, autonomy 4-6 weeks, lighter package to receive and store.
- Delta Platinum 30 kg — 60 bags, ideal for 100-200 espressos/day, autonomy 3-6 weeks, the best price per kilo in the Platinum range.
For very high volumes (> 200 espressos/day), order several 30 kg packs with scheduled deliveries.
Contents of the 20 kg pack?
The pack contains 40 identical 500g bags of Delta Platinum whole bean coffee—each bag is sold individually under the reference Delta Platinum 500g —same blend, same roast, and from similar batches to maintain consistent aroma. Each bag is sealed with a vent valve. Open one bag at a time to preserve the freshness of subsequent bags (first in, first out). The bags are grouped into cartons for shipping; delivery methods, times, and costs will be displayed in your shopping cart based on your address.
Is there a smaller size available for testing the blend?
Yes, and it's the same product: Delta Platinum 500g individually, Delta Platinum 1kg (2 x 500g bags), then the 5kg (10 bags) and 10kg (20 bags) packs. We recommend testing with a 500g bag before committing to a 20kg pack.
What savings are there compared to buying 40 500g sachets separately?
The price of this pack is compared on this page to the price of 40 Delta Platinum 500g bags purchased individually— a saving of 19% at the current price. A single shipment covers several weeks of service; the delivery costs, calculated at checkout based on your address, are thus more easily offset. Recommended for what type of establishment?
Ideal target for a 20 kg pack:
- Neighborhood bistro/café-bar — 60-100 espressos/day, regular clientele.
- Restaurant / brasserie — 30-60 espressos/day (after-meal coffee).
- 3-4 star hotel — buffet breakfast + daytime lounge.
- Office space for 30-60 employees — professional bean-to-cup coffee machine in the coffee room.
At ~71 espressos per sachet, 40 sachets cover 4 to 6 weeks for a bistro, more for a restaurant.
Platinum vs Gold vs Gran Espresso — how to choose?
Three Delta blends in pack format:
- Delta Platinum (this blend) — the top of the range : Central American Arabica and Asian Robusta, slow roasted, ripe fruit / caramel / chocolate, round and smooth cup, intensity 8/10.
- Delta Gold 20 kg — the balanced signature, Arabica-Robusta, dark chocolate / dried fruit, versatile (espresso, filter, mocha), intensity 8/10. Same format, 40 bags of 500 g.
- Delta Gran Espresso — Italian style dark roast, Robusta dominant, very full-bodied, abundant crema.
Platinum is the choice for theestablishment that seeks an elegant espresso with a long finish.
