Taste Profile
Bristot Classico Intenzo e Cremoso — the intense and creamy signature blend from Bristot. Bristot is an Italian family roaster founded in 1919 in Belluno (Veneto, at the foot of the Dolomites) by Bortolo Bristot — not in Bassano del Grappa, as is sometimes mistakenly stated. The company is now a subsidiary of the Procaffè SpA group (acquired by Wedl & Hofmann GmbH Austria in 2000), while preserving its historic Venetian expertise. It features a balanced Arabica-Robusta blend and a medium-dark roast in the Venetian style of northeastern Italy (more rustic and full-bodied than the Turin-based Piedmontese style, but less so than the Neapolitan style).
In the cup: intense body , dense and long-lasting crema (hence the Italian " Cremoso " = creamy), signature notes of dark chocolate, roasted coffee , and dried fruit . The coffee of traditional Venetian bars —served in the osterie of Belluno, Trento, Trieste, and Bolzano. Certified Sustainable Coffee (Bristot's sustainable approach since 2020).

Who is Bristot and where is this coffee roaster based?
Bristot is an Italian family-run coffee roaster founded in 1919 in Belluno (Veneto, at the foot of the Dolomites, province of Belluno) by Bortolo Bristot. ⚠️ Note: Do not confuse it with Bassano del Grappa — the company has been based in Belluno since its inception (historical headquarters and roasting plant). The company is now a subsidiary of the Procaffè SpA (acquired by Wedl & Hofmann GmbH Austria in 2000). Bristot is renowned for its Venetian Ho.Re.Ca, found in traditional bars throughout northeastern Italy (Veneto, Trentino, Friuli-Venezia Giulia). Awarded the 2023-24 Roaster of the Year (Guida Camaleonte, Italian Coffee Guide). Certified Sustainable Coffee (sustainable practices since 2020).
What is the difference between the Venetian school and other Italian schools?
Italy has several regional coffee roasting schools :
- Turin school (Piedmont) — balanced, medium roast (Lavazza).
- Venetian school (Veneto / Friuli) — full-bodied balanced, medium dark roast (Bristot, Illy Trieste).
- Genoese school (Liguria) — rustic intermediate, cocoa notes (Covim).
- Neapolitan school (Campania) — very full-bodied, dark roast (Kimbo, Passalacqua).
Bristot Classico positions itself as a full-bodied, balanced Venetian wine — powerful but not burnt, with the alpine roundness of the Dolomites.
Is the Bristot Classico compatible with my bean-to-cup machine?
Yes, all brands : De'Longhi, Jura, Philips, Melitta, Krups, Saeco, Siemens. Recommended settings: medium grind 5/10, dose 9-10 g, temperature 92 °C, extraction 25-30 s. The Arabica-Robusta blend produces a very dense, hazelnut-colored crema, characteristic of the advertised "Cremoso".
How many cups can I make with 1 kg?
Estimated yield:
- Strong espresso (7g) : ~143 cups.
- Standard espresso (9 g) : ~111 cups.
- Moka coffee maker (12 g) : ~83 cups.
Bar (100 espressos/day): ~1.5 days per kilo. Home (4 cups/day): ~4-5 weeks per kilo.
How to store the 1 kg bag?
Carefully reseal the Bristot bag after opening or transfer the beans to an airtight, opaque jar at room temperature (18-22°C), away from light and heat sources. Avoid refrigerating. Best before date (sealed bag): 18-24 months. Once opened, ideally consume within 3-4 weeks for optimal flavor.
