Taste Profile
Classico ORO is the premium range ("Gold" in Italian) from the roaster Bristot — a family business founded in 1919 in Belluno, Veneto, at the foot of the Italian Dolomites. Bristot is now part of the Procaffè SpA, acquired by the Austrian Wedl & Hofmann group in 2000, while preserving its artisanal DNA and its roasting in Veneto.
Composition: Predominantly selected Arabica — Bristot selects Arabicas from various origins (Central America, South America, Africa) for their refined aromatic profile. Medium roast in the Venetian style — milder than the full-bodied Neapolitan roasts, more expressive than Turin roasts, this balance is the Bristot signature.
In the cup: a round and refined espresso , with a gentle attack of dried fruit notes (toasted almond, hazelnut), a balanced body supported by milk chocolate notes , a pointof honey in the mid-palate, and a medium to long, harmonious finish. Positioned as a premium Italian alternative —for lovers of Italian blends who value finesse over strength.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Bristot's "ORO" range?
ORO means " Gold " in Italian — it's the premium, high-end range from the Venetian roaster Bristot. It distinguishes itself from the Classico Intenzo (more full-bodied) and Bar Diamante ranges with a predominantly Arabica and a refined medium roast. The Classico ORO blend is Bristot's default choice for a balanced, premium Italian espresso, in the Venetian tradition (softer than Naples, more expressive than Turin).
Bristot Classico ORO vs Classico Intenzo — how to choose?
Two iconic Bristot blends with distinct orientations:
- Classico ORO (this ref.) — refined premium range. Predominantly Arabica, medium roast, notes of dried fruit / milk chocolate / honey. Intensity 7/10.
- Classico Intenzo — a more full-bodied and creamy range. Traditional Italian Arabica-Robusta blend, darker roast, notes of dark chocolate/cocoa/malt. Higher intensity.
Choose ORO for a refined and balanced profile. Intenzo for a stronger and creamier Italian espresso.
Where exactly is Bristot coffee made?
Bristot was founded in 1919 in Belluno, the capital of the province of the same name in Veneto, at the foot of the Dolomites (Italian Alps, a UNESCO World Heritage Site). Roasting is still carried out at the historic Belluno site, preserving the traditional methods of the Venetian school. Belluno is located approximately 100 km north of Venice and distinguishes itself from Neapolitan (South) and Turin (West) roasting with a milder, more refined —the " Venetian roast " is recognized as a distinct style within Italian coffee.
Who exactly is this 1 kg bag intended for?
Target audience: gourmet bar / upscale office / lover of fine Italian coffee
- Gourmet bar — clientele who appreciate fine Italian blends.
- High-end Italian restaurant — perfect match with Venetian cuisine.
- 4-5 star hotel — fine dining cafe, premium image.
- High-end office — lawyers, consulting firms, agencies.
- Home coffee lover — semi-pro espresso machine, alternative to Lavazza / Illy blends.
Compatible with milk-based drinks and cappuccinos?
Yes, excellent . The characteristic dried fruit and milk chocolate notes of Classico ORO harmonize naturally with the sweetness of heated milk— signature cappuccino, latte macchiato, café crème . Its balanced body cuts through milk beautifully without being overwhelmed, and the aromatic finesse remains perceptible in milk-based drinks. This is the Bristot blend recommended for a bar that wants to offer both strong espresso and high-quality milk-based beverages.
How to store the 1 kg bag to preserve its freshness?
The 1 kg bag is sealed in a protected atmosphere and equipped with a degassing valve. As long as the bag remains unopened, it will keep until the best before date indicated (18-24 months). Store it at room temperature (18-22°C), away from light—do not refrigerate. Once opened, reseal carefully or transfer to an airtight, opaque container, and ideally consume within 3 to 4 weeks. An Arabica-dominant blend is more susceptible to oxidation than a Robusta blend—check for freshness.
