What is the Venetian school of coffee?
TheVenetian school is a style of roasting from Northeast Italy, characterized by a balance between sweetness and body. The roasting is medium to medium-dark depending on the blend; blends are finer than Naples but more full-bodied than Turin. Bristot has been the historical representative since 1919 —a family roaster from Belluno, a town in the Veneto region at the foot of the Dolomites, now a member of the Procaffè SpA group (acquired by Wedl & Hofmann GmbH Austria in 2000).
How to strategically use the 3 Bristot blends?
Possible strategies depending on usage:
- Italian restaurant / trattoria — Classico breakfast, Intenso after-dinner coffee, Cremoso cappuccino.
- Medium-sized office for 15-40 people — weekly rotation to offer variety to employees.
- Hotel breakfast + lounge — Classico buffet morning, Intenso lounge late afternoon.
- Curious amateur Bristot range — alternate according to mood or time of day.
Who is this 6kg pack intended for?
Target market: Versatile hospitality/office/average amateur variety
- Italian restaurant / trattoria — varied range for differentiated service.
- Office 15-40 employees — professional bean machine, variety of blends.
- Hotel breakfast + lounge — continuous service, blend options.
- Curious amateur Bristot range — discover 3 signature blends in one pack.
For more intensive use, see Bristot L'Americano Dark Roast 12×1 kg pack.
Adjust the grind between the 3 blends?
Yes — each Bristot blend has slightly different extraction characteristics:
- Classico : medium grind (5/10 on a bean-to-cup machine).
- Intenso : fine grind (4/10) to extract all the power.
- Cremoso : medium-fine grind (5-6/10) to maximize crema.
If you use a single machine without changing the grind, stick with a medium (5/10) compromise grind — you lose ~10% of the potential of each blend but it still looks very good.
Is Bristot an artisanal or industrial coffee roaster?
Bristot is a family-run coffee roaster with a long and rich history (founded in 1919 in Belluno), now part of the Procaffè SpA group (acquired by Wedl & Hofmann GmbH Austria in 2000). The artisanal spirit is preserved: careful selection of green beans, slow roasting in Belluno, and Venetian know-how passed down through generations. The Torrefazione dell'Anno 2023-24 from the Guida Camaleonte confirms its continued commitment to quality.
