The choice of format depends on the volume of the drink :

• Espresso (25-40 ml) → 4 oz / 12 cl Cafemalin (best-seller, 3,124 sales) — optimal size for short espresso, ristretto, and long coffee up to 90 ml
• Lungo / Cappuccino (150-180 ml) → 6.5 oz / 20 cl — cappuccino with milk foam, lungo coffee, tea
• Latte / Long Black (200-240 ml) → 8 oz / 24 cl — latte, mocha, large long black, hot chocolate

Limescale is the number one enemy of professional coffee machines. Water that is too hard (> 15 °f) causes:

• Internal circuit fouling (thermoblock, extraction unit, pipes)
• Loss of temperature and pressure → poorly extracted espresso, no crema
• Machine lifespan reduced by a factor of 2-3 compared to filtered water
• High after-sales service costs (professional descaling interventions or thermoblock replacement)

A Brita Purity C150 Quell ST cartridge (lasting approximately 6-12 months depending on water hardness) provides effective protection. For very intensive washing machines, use the Purity C500 Finest (premium filtration).

The Aqua Aroma Crema Filter is a specific limescale filter designed by Lavazza for its Lavazza Blue LB300, LB900, and LB1050 machines (pro-office segment). It fits inside the machine's water tank and:

• Filters limescale and residual chlorine from tap water
• Preserves the coffee aromas and the persistence of the crema
• Extends the lifespan of the machine's thermoblock
• Usage time ~2 months depending on usage / water hardness (machine indicator light shows replacement)

Yes, Lavazza porcelain cups (70ml espresso + 160ml cappuccino + saucers) are dishwasher safe — high-quality porcelain, decoration fired throughout, unaffected by automatic washing cycles. For maximum long-term preservation of the decoration, however, use a low-temperature cycle (40-50°C) and avoid highly abrasive detergents.

Avoid using the microwave with porcelain cups decorated with gold/silver (risk of sparking).
