Frequently Asked Questions
Matching cups?
Yes — Lavazza Cappuccino Cups 160 mL x6 (#60440). The saucer nesting curve is precisely sized for these cups. For a complete 6-person service, order both products together.
Useful or decorative?
Both — the saucer is a functional accessory as well as a decorative one:
- Function 1 · Hygiene — isolates the hot cup from the tray or table, absorbs any drips that might flow from the spout.
- Function 2 · Spoon and sugar holder — the saucer typically has a place to store the teaspoon and a sugar stick on the customer side, eliminating the need for an additional coaster.
- Function 3 · Carrying — the server can carry the filled cup without risk of burning (hand on saucer, not on cup).
- Function 4 · Branding — Lavazza signature in the dining room, consistent identity of the service.
Standard bar/hotel : no professional cappuccino service is done without a saucer — it's a quality marker of the cafe/bar.
Compatible with other non-Lavazza cappuccino cups?
Not recommended — the nesting curve is sized for Lavazza Cappuccino 160 mL cups. A cup from another manufacturer (illy, WMF, Villeroy & Boch, etc.) may move or not nest properly. Use the matching saucers from each manufacturer for consistent service.
Maintenance and dishwasher?
Dishwasher safe — premium porcelain withstands standard cycles (60-70°C). Avoid very high temperature cycles (>75°C). Microwave safe , but not ideal for saucers (no contents to reheat). scratch resistance to metal cutlery compared to entry-level porcelain thanks to Lavazza premium enamel.
Espresso sizes or other cup sizes?
Our Lavazza porcelain tableware :
- 70 mL espresso saucers x12 — for Italian espresso cups. See #60429.
- Cappuccino saucers x6 — this product, for 160 mL cappuccino cups.
Price vs. value of a complete porcelain dinner service?
Sustainable investment for bar, cafe, hotel or family brunch use:
- Lifespan of intensive bar/cafe use — ~5-8 years (resistance to thermal shocks, scratches).
- Lifespan for home use — ~15-20 years with regular brunch use.
- Less durable alternative — entry-level porcelain tableware from mass retail: ~2-3 years in bar use.
The complete Lavazza Cappuccino service for 6 people (cups #60440 + saucers #60464) constitutes a professional signature set or premium home set
