Lavazza cappuccino cups 160 ml — Set of 6

160 ml is the standard Italian bar for a classic cappuccino. The unwritten but universal standard in Italy:

• 150 mL — short/dense, Rome and southern Italy.
• 160 mL — standard cappuccino bar, most regions.
• 180 mL — ample cappuccino , Milan and north.
• 200 mL+ — latte macchiato or caffè latte — exceeds the traditional definition of cappuccino.

The 160 mL Lavazza cup therefore respects the most common Italian bar consensus — perfect balance between espresso density, milk body and foam volume

Italian standard 1/3 · 1/3 · 1/3 :

• Espresso extract 25-40 mL — intense aromatic base. Extraction 25-30 sec, fine grind.
• Hot milk 50-70 mL — heated 60-65 °C with the steam nozzle (never more, otherwise it will have a burnt, lactosey taste).
• Milk foam 50-70 mL — micro-foam velvet, not "large bubble" foam.

Latte art technique : pour frothed milk in a concentric ring to create a rosette, heart, or tulip. The 160 mL cup is perfectly suited for basic designs (rosette, heart).

Yes to both :

• Dishwasher safe — premium porcelain withstands standard cycles (60-70°C) without any problems. Avoid very high temperature cycles (>75°C) which can dull the enamel over time.
• Microwave safe — suitable for quickly reheating a cooled cappuccino (e.g., 20-30 seconds). Caution : the porcelain can become very hot — use an oven mitt.
• Preheat cup — rinse with hot water or microwave for 5 seconds before serving to preserve the coffee temperature (Italian bar tip).

Premium porcelain is denser than standard porcelain: 2.4-2.5 g/cm³ vs. 2.2 g/cm³ for entry-level porcelain. It offers above-average resistance to thermal shock (hot/cold shock) and scratches from metal cutlery . Expected lifespan in bar/café use: ~5-8 years with intensive use, ~15-20 years in home/brunch use.
