Taste Profile
Lavazza Espresso Point Mint Tea is a mint-flavored green tea capsule for the Espresso Point system , Lavazza's long-standing B2B system (launched in 1989). Typical composition: green tea leaves (Camellia sinensis, unoxidized base) + natural spearmint flavoring . Contains theine (~30 mg/cup depending on dilution) from the green tea base—it is therefore a mild stimulant , not a caffeine-free infusion. In the cup: light green to pale amber liquor , fresh and refreshing profile , dominant notes of fresh spearmint and delicate green tea (light vegetal and iodine notes in the background), slightly sweet depending on the roast. Light body, well-balanced acidity and bitterness. Ideal as a digestive after meal , for an afternoon office coffee break , afternoon tea service in the hospitality industry , and as a refreshing summer beverage . A pleasant alternative to Lavazza EP coffee in an office setting where a variety of hot drinks are offered on the same machine.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does it contain theine or caffeine?
Yes, it contains theine — approximately 30 mg per capsule (Camellia sinensis green tea base). This is less than an espresso (~60-80 mg caffeine/cup) but enough for a mild stimulant effect . Theine is chemically identical to caffeine, but its release into the body is more gradual (due to the tannins in the tea). Suitable for consumption during the day (morning, afternoon) and after meals as a digestive . For strictly stimulant-free use (evenings, children, very sensitive pregnant women), opt for a pure infusion such as Lavazza Blue Red Fruits (hibiscus + fruit, zero theine).
Note : some older documentation incorrectly referred to this product as "caffeine-free" — we are correcting the factual information here based on the official Lavazza composition (green tea + mint = does contain theine).
Which machines are compatible?
Only Lavazza Espresso Point (proprietary system launched in 1989 by Lavazza for B2B/CHR):
- EP Mini — compact home/small office machine.
- EP2302 — mid-range office machine.
- EP2100 — intermediate eco machine.
- EP Matinée — version with hot water nozzle for teas and infusions.
Not compatible with other Lavazza systems (Blue, A Modo Mio, Firma), nor with Nespresso, Dolce Gusto, Delta Q, or illy Iperespresso. The EP capsule is a proprietary format marking Point .
What's the difference with Lavazza Blue Mint?
Two products with very similar compositions but for different systems :
- Lavazza Espresso Point Mint Tea (this product) — Espresso Point capsule system (historical B2B since 1989), 25-capsule pack. Compatible with EP machines.
- Lavazza Blue Mint — Blue (modern B2B 1998), 15 capsule format. Compatible with Blue (LB300 → LB4700).
The base of green tea and mint flavoring is identical, as is the caffeine content (~30 mg/cup). The choice depends solely on which machine you have : EP → this product, Blue → the other option.
What is the Espresso Pointsystem?
Lavazza Espresso Point (EP) is the historic B2B/CHR system launched by Lavazza in 1989 — it was one of the first professional capsule systems in the world. Features:
- Proprietary hard plastic capsule — specific format, not recyclable in normal sorting.
- B2B/Ho.Re.Ca. segment — bars, offices, hotels, restaurants.
- Full range — coffees (Crema e Aroma, Aroma Club Espresso, Gran Espresso, Dek), teas (Menthe, Al Limone), milk (Bevanda Bianca).
- Still active today — coexists with the more modern Blue and the Firma.
Lavazza subsequently launched Blue in 1998 (successor to the modern B2B segment) and then Firma in 2013 (premium segment). All three systems coexist today.
Suitable for pregnant women and children?
In moderation :
- Pregnant women — green tea contains theine (~30 mg/capsule). The WHO recommends limiting caffeine/theine to < 200 mg/day during pregnancy. 1-2 Mint Tea capsules per day remain within a reasonable limit. Consult your midwife/doctor for personalized advice.
- Breastfeeding women — well tolerated in moderation, theine passes very little into breast milk.
- Children — not recommended for young children (under 12 years old) due to the theine content. Opt for a pure, caffeine-free infusion such as Blue Red Fruits.
