Carte Noire is historically French —created in 1978 by the Dutch group Douwe Egberts specifically for the French market, with a 100% French identity and positioning (" The Art of French Coffee ," iconic cinema advertisements). In July 2016, the brand was acquired by the Italian group Lavazza —its French DNA and positioning are preserved, with roasting and supply chain integrated into the Lavazza group. The brand remains positioned in the French market as a smooth, rounded French alternative to the more robust Italian blends.

Decent, but not perfect . The 100% Arabica Aromatic blend is milder and less intense than a Robusta blend—it cuts through the heated milk without being crushed, but the result is still more subtle than a classic Italian espresso. Ideal for a mild French latte or a casual office cappuccino. For more expressive cappuccinos, the Balanced version (with Robusta) offers a more classic flavor. The 1 kg bag is sealed in a protected atmosphere and equipped with a degassing valve . As long as the bag remains unopened , it will keep until the indicated best before date (18-24 months). Store it at room temperature (18-22°C), away from light—do not refrigerate. Once opened, reseal carefully or transfer to an airtight, opaque container , and ideally consume within 3 to 4 weeks .
