How to make a perfect cappuccino with the Illy Iperespresso X1 Anniversary Coffee Machine

Step 1: Prepare the espresso

1. Turn on the machine and let it heat up for a few minutes.
2. Insert an Illy Iperespresso coffee capsule into the capsule holder.
3. Place your cup under the extraction spout and press the espresso button.
4. Allow the espresso to flow (approximately 25-30 ml) and remove the cup.

 Step 2: Froth the milk with the steam wand

1. Fill the milk jug to about 1/3 of its capacity.
2. Purge the steam nozzle by running it for a few seconds before use (this removes residual water).

4. Froth the milk by keeping the nozzle close to the surface to incorporate air.
5. Create a silky texture by gradually lowering the jug to heat the milk without too much foam.
6. Reach an ideal temperature of 60-65°C (the pitcher should be hot but not burning hot to the touch).
7. Turn off the steam and immediately clean the nozzle with a damp cloth.

Tip : For a fine and creamy foam, avoid large bubbles by keeping the nozzle submerged after aeration.

 Step 3: Assemble the cappuccino

1. First, pour the hot milk into the espresso, tilting the cup slightly.
2. Add the milk foam by gently lifting the pitcher to obtain a nice creamy effect.
3. For the more creative, try a simple latte art by making a circular motion with the pitcher.

Tip : For a gourmet touch, lightly sprinkle with cocoa powder or cinnamon.
