A Modo Mio is Lavazza's home espresso system , launched in 2007 after several years of R&D. Lavazza's goal: to make Italian espresso accessible at home , with an eco-friendly capsule made of biopolymer (a material compostable according to local programs). Since 2020, the range has been evolving towards 100% compostable capsules in certain partner Italian municipalities.
The standard format is a box of 16 capsules (approximately €5.88), which works out to approximately €0.37 per cup. Each capsule is airtight and nitrogenated during roasting to guarantee the freshness of the aromas. The range covers all intensities : from Dolce (mild and light) toIntenso (dark and full-bodied), including the balanced blends Passionale, Soave, Delizioso, and Qualità Rossa.
A Modo Mio machines are designed for home use by 1-2 people : the Jolie (compact and stylish), the Idola (touchscreen), the Deséa (automatic milk frother), the Voicy (voice control), the Milk Easy (integrated frother), and the Tiny Eco (eco-designed using recycled plastic). Not compatible with Nespresso, Dolce Gusto, Iperespresso, or other systems.

Are A Modo Mio capsules recyclable?
capsules Modo Mio are made of bio-based biopolymer —a material derived from plant sources and industrially compostable in certain sectors. Since 2020, Lavazza has offered a 100% compostable in collaboration with partner municipalities in Italy.
In France, AMM capsules can be either disposed of in regular household waste (biological degradation at a treatment center) or added to home compost if you have a composter suitable for biopolymer material. Empty the coffee grounds into the compost separately first.
Difference between A Modo Mio Passionale and Delizioso?
Both are popular balanced, but:
Passionale — a darker roast, a richer Arabica + Robusta blend, with chocolate and toasty notes. Intense body, dense crema. Ideal for lovers of traditional Italian espresso.
Delizioso — a lighter roast, higher proportion of Arabica beans, fruity and tangy notes. A finer, smoother body. Ideal for those who prefer an elegant, less full-bodied espresso.
